Vehicle Detail

This is a 1947 model that looks like a 1941 to 1946. Even though GM changed body styles in 47, they produced some trucks with left over war era parts early in the year. This is one of those very collectable trucks. I've done a ton of hours of work on the body. I'd say it is in Good condition now, with still more attention needed to make it a show truck. I wanted it for a driver so I worked more on drive-ability and fixing rust. It didn't have much rust when I got it, but I cut out the little it had and replaced it with new metal. It has a coat of hot rod flatz black paint. The dash is a beautiful British Racing Green Matallic. I haven't done much to the interior, but these trucks are pretty simple. You can get everything you need to finish the inside from Chevs of the 40's. The engine is a 235 inline 6 from an early 60's car (was rebuilt by previous owner) with a mild cam and dual exhaust from vintage fenton headers. This thing sounds great. Runs great. The rest of the drive train is original. I put new chrome rims and wide white wall radials on it (have the origninal rims and rubber too). A pending move forces this sale. Feel free to email with questions. Thanks On Oct-01-13 at 19:54:13 PDT, seller added the following information: The lights do work. gages work too, but since I put smaller rims on it the speedo is off by 10. I think it was worth it for the radial tires and lower stance looks cool. it does have the original 4 speed. I have a sincro-mesh SM420 four speed I can throw in if you want it. it would take a little modification to get it in, but that was my plan before some of my tools came up missing after my last move. there is a very, very slow oil drip at the back of the motor. I think its more from lack of use than anything. I'd say a 8 inch spot after 12 months. One thing I am proud of is the working windshield crank. most of these trucks have stripped out gears in the crank, but I found one working after looking at swap meets for about 2 years. the steering is tight, I didn't do it, but the king pins have been replaced not that long ago. wheel bearings look good and have plenty of grease. I rebuilt the master cylinder, and the rear brake cylinders are new. what else??? - skookumjeeper1 Dear skookumjeeper1, Do all the lights, blinkers, gages work? Orig. trans? Oil/trans leaks? Bottom line? Just want to se if we're on the same page. Thanks, On Oct-06-13 at 16:15:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Spare parts: I have the original rims, a brand new chrome front bumper, an extra grille (just the lower), another gauge cluster, another gear for the windshield crank, and I can throw in a SM420 transmission if you want.
