Engine Specifics: · 490CI Balanced & Blueprinted, Stroker Motor · Ross Custom Forged Pistons · Eagle Stroker Kit W/Forged Rods & Crank · Competition Cams W/Hydraulic Rollers · Edelbrock Heads · Edelbrock Ported, Polished Flow-Tested Intake Manifold · Dyno Tested @ 4300 RPM: 591.3 with 635.9 Ft. Lbs of Torque Newer, BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s front and rear Owned by a retired police officer in Anaheim, CA, the car has been meticulously restored, maintained, garaged and covered. Simply put, the car is in SUPERIOR OVERALL CONDITION. As the build-up and restoration, this simple Road Runner was transformed into a living, breathing, modern, serviceable machine that will exceed your expectations in every way. This is an extremely fast, reliable muscle car that doesn’t look like a cobbled together pile of aftermarket bolt-ons. By viewing all the photos, it becomes clear that serious time and considerable money was invested to restore and create this masterpiece. For instance; check out the 2-stage metallic green enamel. Seeing it in person, the finish looks so deep you could dive into it. Interior: The original interior is absolutely immaculate. From the loop carpeting and vinyl seats to the headliner… All gauges, switches and lights work perfectly including the original thumb wheel radio with 8-track. (How modern!) …everything is factory correct, right down to the “Beep-Beep” center cap in the steering wheel. Bare-bones functionality highlights this original interior Let’s take a peak underneath: Everything above and below proudly displays the extensive, frame-off restoration and performance upgrades. From the New GEAR VENDORS Overdrive and New Curry Rear & Drive Shaft, everything on this Roadrunner has been completed. Check out the insane exhaust. Flip a switch inside and the gates automatically open, diverting the exhaust away from the mufflers. The exhaust note quickly goes from a quite purr to a thundering roar! Drive train: Originally a 383, the motor was completely gone through and bored to 490 Cubic inches. The dino sheet shows a staggering 591 horse power! The air cleaner assembly is a work of art with a lot frustration put in for good measure. It is actually 3 air cleaners grafted together to hide the high-rise, race intake and carburetor; all fitting snugly beneath the stock hood. The “slick-shift” synchronizers in the rebuilt 4 speed, transmission will allow full throttle power shifts with just a little clutch. Coupled with the new GEAR VENDORS Overdrive and Curry Rear End, this car will turn 12’s in the quarter mile and you’ll turn heads coming and going. This is a timeless beauty… The Road Runner was named Motor Trend Car of the Year for 1969 and this particular car is among the finest examples remaining from the pinnacle of the back-to-basics, muscle car era. Thank you, good luck and HAPPY BIDDING!On Sep-27-13 at 12:55:09 PDT, seller added the following information: **Notice to all bidders** Thank you for all your questions. As there were many, the owner and I want to share a few additional details and disclosures to ensure that interested eBay members can make an intelligent decision about how much to bid (or not bid!) for this unique Road Runner. The engine modifications performed by Superior Automotive (receipt for $16,978 included) were completed in 2007 however the car was driven less than 1000 miles since. The original 383 motor was REPLACED by a modified 440 engine, bored to 490 c.i., balanced, blueprinted, etc, etc. This build did NOT create a “monster” that shakes the fillings out of your teeth. It’s a silky-smooth drivetrain that’s super easy to shift and drive around in traffic and is also a very comfortable highway cruiser. Truly amazing - considering the massive horsepower this engine produces. In 2010, the transmission was removed and Superior Performance replaced the synchros and installed a Hurst shift assembly (original shifter in photos is also included). This is NOT a numbers matching car. The fender tag was lost during the body/chassis restoration. There is a slight, rear-end noise “hum” that appears to be coming from the right-axle bearing. It has not been replaced. Also, the Gear Vendors overdrive unit is currently disconnected. The owner is forced to sell due to terminal illness. When bidding, please consider that - ANY $ amount below its $100K cost to build, is equal to the $ amount you’d save trying to duplicate this awesome Road Runner. The winning bidder WILL OWN IT. Thanks again and Good Luck!
