Up for auction is a bank repossessed 2010 Volkswagen Passat with only 35,100 miles. A Carfax report has been pulled on the vehicle which shows 6 service records and no collisions. The car has been reported as stolen by the former owner but this was during the time the car was towed for being illegally parked and subsequently repossessed. As mentioned, this car is a bank repossession and is owned by First National Community Bank in Chatsworth, Ga. which is where the car is located at. For full disclosure, when the bank repossessed the car, the car did have light body damage on the passenger side front and rear door, several pieces of trim were missing and the hood was dented. These areas did not appear to have been involved in a high speed collision. The doors appeared to have been backed in to by another car at very low speed and the hood appeared to have been sat on. The bank has had the exterior of the car completely repaired by a professional body shop and the car has been completely detailed by a professional detail shop. A brief description of each area of the car is shown below: Exterior: Overall, the car is very attractive and is in average condition for a car of this age, in my opinion. The paint is silver metallic in color. As mentioned, the passenger side and hood of the car did have slight damage when the car was repossessed; however this has been professionally repaired. As such, these areas of the car are near flawless as this side of the car was repainted. The rest of the car (drivers side & rear) are in average condition for a 2010 model with shiny paint, no dents or dings and just an occasional small surface scratch. Interior: The interior of the vehicle features leatherette seats that are tan in color. The seats are in excellent condition with no stains, cuts, tears, etc. The carpet is tan in color as well and is in good condition. As mentioned, the car has been thoroughly detailed so the carpet has been shampooed and shows no signs of excessive wear, stains, holes, etc. The car has “Passat” all weather floor mats. The headliner has two cigarette burns. All trim pieces, with the exception of the ash tray, are present and in good condition with no cracks. The seatbelts, mainly in the rear seat, have a significant amount of staining that would be consistent with a child spilling drinks on them. The car was previously smoked in so even after the carpets have been shampooed and the rest of the interior has been cleaned, there is still a faint smell of cigarette smoke noticeable. Drivetrain: Powered by a 2.0L, turbocharged, 4-Cyl engine with automated transmission, the car has estimated fuel economy of 22 cty / 31 hwy mpg. The vehicle has been regularly serviced by a Volkswagen Dealer and the bank recently had the oil changed and fluids checks. The engine packs plenty of power and the transmission shifts smoothly. Driving the car around town does not reveal any unusual noises or vibrations. Wheels / Tires: The bank has had the car outfitted with brand new Kumho “Ecsta AST” tires (235/45R17). The car has factory alloy wheels that are in good condition. Mechanics: All power options such as doors, windows, sunroof, gas lid, trunk, mirrors, heated seats, etc. work flawlessly. As mentioned, the car is located in Chatsworth, Ga. and pickup must be coordinated from this location. I would prefer the buyer to pick up the vehicle in person; however, I will assist in coordinating pickup with a professional hauling company. Any shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer will be responsible for any and all applicable taxes. The buyer will receive from the bank a clear Georgia Title with all liens released, a bill of sale, an affidavit of repossession and the buyer will be required to sign a release stating that the car is being sold AS IS, WITHOUT WARRANTY, either expressed or implied. The buyer is responsible for any and all due diligence. The bank has owned this vehicle for a short amount of time and the description above is our opinion of the car that was developed during this short period of time.
