Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1965 Triumph 650 Bobber/Chopper. The bike was built in 2006 and featured in a 3 page article in the May 2006 The Horse, Backstreet Choppers. It was driven on a regular basis until 2010. A series of hand surgeries have keep me from enjoying the bike since then. The bike features a number of unique one of a kind features from the hand forged devil's tails to the hand cut flames. Bright red matching powder coat and paint are complemented with silver powder coat, chrome and polished aluminum. Bike runs decent at times but seems to be getting more temperamental with age . Recently changed the oil, drained the gas and replaced the battery. Compression on the engine cold and with the throttle open ranges between 150-160 PSI. I'm guessing that the rough running is more carburetor related and needs someone knowledgeable to go through the carb correctly. Description from front to back: Front wheel is a 21inch mini brake with an Avon MK2 Speedmaster tire. Front forks are from 1970-71 Harley Sportster, the lower legs are powder coated silver, top tubes are new with all new seals. Handle bars are original Ron Finch that were modified to make them longer and then powder coated silver. Bates style 5 ¾ headlight Levers and cables are all Barnett. I snapped the clutch lever off and replaced it with an inexpensive lever that I had laying around with a cable saver. If I were keeping the bike I'd improve this setup. Frame has been powder coated red, with custom forward controls, hand cut flame frame gusset and flame motor mounts. Hardtail is both welded and bolted to the original frame. Rear fender is from an unknown English bike with a wire edge and supported by a custom rear fender mount with a hand cut Devils tail. Gas tank is 2.2 gallon Paugho painted red (it has a 1/8” diameter nick in the paint, the only blemish on the bike) White Solo style seat with all white rubber pegs and hand grips (dirty white now) Aluminum oil tank powder coated silver from Bernier Cycle. Rear tail light is a Model A Ford supported by another hand forged devils tail. Rear wheel is a Harley laced to the Triumph hub with stainless steel spokes and an Avon Speedmaster MK2 tire Engine is simple, bored .060 over (it may be as much as .080 over. I bought the engine with the top end rebuilt and I can't remember how much it was bored over). Aluminum clutch basket with Barnett discs. Morgo oil pump with a 3134 grind camshaft. Single carb head TR6 (it was not rebuilt) with a new 34mm VM Mukini carb Seals and gaskets replaced, but does have the usual Triumph oil leaks (no wet sump) Covers all polished as well as some of the crankcase (could stand being re polished) Cycle Shack straight through exhaust Accel Super Coil in custom battery box (top has a small dent that can't been seen until you remove it). Podtronic Rectifier and Boyer Brandsen Electronic Ignition. The jockey shift is another hand forged devils tail topped with a red Satan! The bike is still a head turned but it is not for the novice rider. It's loud, a hardtail, no turn signals or horn with a small 2.2 gallon gas tank (don’t expect to take your drivers test with this bike). Transmission shifts smoothly and bike starts easily. The bike has a clear Ohio title (engine numbers). The pictures in the auction are from the magazine photo shoot. I've described the current condition of the bike in the add. The bike is being sold as is, and is being listed locally. Link to YouTube video shows current condition of the bike clearly http://youtu.be/qXBbKL7qJ3o
