Vehicle Detail
Original 289-2V, auto, p/s manual drum brakes. Honey gold with black interior, with just over 60k original miles - it's been in my family since 1973, was driven locally until 1980, and garage kept as a classic since. Looking to sell because I haven't had time to keep it up for a couple of years and would like to see it driven like it needs to be. Will be a good driver with some work or a great start for a restoration project. Body:- Floors are good- Some minor rust starting to show on the passenger front fender, where a rust repair was done in the 80's- Some paint peeling in the door jambs - no rust- Due for a repaint- Door and trunk weatherstripping needs to be replaced- Radio antenna needs to be replaced- Bumpers are good Interior:- Dash top is showing some waviness common to the Mustang- Door panel chrome in't perfect, but passable- One cigar burn on the driver's seat Mechanical:- Engine runs well- Trans - needs gaskets to be replaced - originals leak when the car isn't driven for a while. - Power steering pump needs to be replaced. A refurbished pump will be included with car- Radiator is less than 5 y/o and is fine- Fuel system needs to be replaced. Current gas tank has interior rust - I have a new stainless gas tank, sender, and fuel line that will go with the car- Suspension - works fine but wear items need to be replaced. I have a full kit of replacement shocks, springs, bushings, and ball joints that will go with the car- Brakes - as good as it gets with manual drums- Tires are good- Exhaust is intact - no leaks Included with the car:- New stainless fuel tank- Refurbished power steering pump- Original valve covers- Full suspension refurb kit (shocks, bushings, ball joints, springs)On Jul-14-13 at 16:35:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 7.14.2013 Door tag: Body: 63A Color: C Trim: 26 Date: 06LDSO: 25 Axle: 6 Trans: 6 Warranty# 5F09C346301 Rear axle: 2.80:1, Conventional On Jul-15-13 at 14:17:51 PDT, seller added the following information: In response to additional questions:- This car has not been in any accidents, as far as I know- I have the original owner's manual, which will go with the car- The car was last driven any significant distance approx. 2.5 years ago, when the fuel tank, power steering pump, and transmission leak issues surfaced. It has been started periodically since, but I have not attempted to start it in the past 2-3 months, due to the amount of rust I was seeing in the fuel. It was starting fine and idling smoothly each time prior- Miscellaneous additional parts that I have accumulated over time will also go with the car - spark plugs, wires, filters, etc.
