Vehicle Detail

ORIGINAL 1966 FORD THUNDERBIRD TOWN LANDAU We found this car sitting in a garage about a year ago. We were lucky enough to acquire it about 3 months ago. It was covered in dust and wasn't touched for years. The last plates that were registered to this car were from 1980. The original owner bought this car in 1966. He passed away in 1968, so his wife transferred the car into her name and the title now shows her name on it with the year of 1968 (So it is not the original title). We have all the original documentation, the contract, the window sticker, the paperwork showing that he traded in his 1959 Buick, the owner's manual, the shop manual, the vin tag plate, and more. This car has an original 38,000 miles. 390 four barrel engine. A/C works, runs great, very quiet! Power windows, swing-away steering wheel, sequential turn signals, original burgandy paint, power drivers seat, rear fender skirt, original spare tire. It also has the original dual exhaust. The chrome and the paint really shines nice. I put 4 new Coker tires with the red lines. I chose the red lines because that's what was on the factory window sticker. I rebuilt the radiator, flushed the coolant system, put new lower radiator hose on, I put new brakes on. When I redid the new brakes, the car had the original brakes on it, it still had the retainer clips on the drums. I cut the original drums, put new shoes on the rear and wheel cylinders. The front end, I cut the rotars, put new wheel barings on, put new pads on, put a new master cylinder on, a new brake booster, and 1 new brake line. Bled the system, the brakes are great! In regards to the fuel system, dropped the fuel tank, there was too much rust in there so I bought a new fuel tank. New sending unit, new fuel pump, and blew out the fuel lines. I rebuilt the carburator, new spark plugs, and I put a new set of points in. I also had the car professionally washed, waxed, and buffed. The trunk deck-lid has some blistering on it. I brought it to a body shop but the person told me that he didn't want to touch it because it was too original! There's also alittle flaw on the drivers-side fender, down low. You should be able to see it in the pictures. THE CAR RUNS GREAT! I JUST HAD IT ON THE EXPRESSWAY!The only thing that doesn't run well on this car is the clock. I have to tap it to get it working. It will run for about ten minutes. This car is not mint, it's non-restored. It's original. This car shows really well! It's an original beauty. Please email or call with any questions! 773-593-1705
