Vehicle Detail
1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Collectors Edition with only 130,000 and in excellent condition. I've owned it for 1.5 years but have two 80 series Land Cruisers and one needs to go. This truck is in outstanding condition. It is black (96 and 97 models years only) with grey leather interior (evidently not a common combination). Do not have factory locking axles. Exterior is 8 out of 10 with some sap stains on the hood (previous owner) and some typical scratches near the door handles. For being 15 years old and being black, the exterior is in great shape. Carfax shows no wrecks. Clear coat is in great shape as well. I did remove the roof rack and then had the roof painted white with bedliner. This sealed up the rack holes (there was no rust) and keeps the interior of the vehicle much cooler. On a 100 degree day you can place your hand on the roof and, while it is warm to the touch, it is much cooler than the paint was. Interior is in outstanding condition. Again, this is a 15 year old vehicle but the seats are in excellent shape with no tears, blown seams, cuts, etc. There are some worn spots on the seating surfaces but that is it. Door panels, headliner, and dash look great. One small (about 1/4 inch tear on the top of the rear, drivers side, door panel. Carpets in great shape. I have all of the unobtanium "Collectors Edition" mats but removed them to use grey rubber all weather mats. I'll definitely include them with the vehicle. Mechanically, this truck is also in great condition. Prior maintenance history is extensive with many issues that are typical of 80 series Land Cruisers being remedied. You can take the VIN to a local toyota dealer and they can run the history for you. Repairs done by previous owners include replaced leaking main seal, replaced distributor o-ring, replaced EGR valve and other parts, tranny flush, new brakes, and more. Before I purchased the vehicle the selling dealer (Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth) resealed the lower oil pan and replaced the valve guide seals. No history of or indication of head gasket issues. Once I got the vehicle I performed a lot of preventive maintenance. This is where you can save a lot of money by buying this 80. Bottom line is that there is no 80 out there that is less than 15 years old (unless you buy a Venezuelan made model) so some baselining is a good idea when making a purchase - unless it has been done for you. The following has been performed on the truck: New Toyota plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor (109,000) Front end knuckle rebuild which included Koyo wheel bearings (113,000) Installed new Toyota brass radiator (93-94 model year land cruisers - larger), water pump, thermostat, and hoses. Also cleaned out the oil cooler which requires removal of the front exhaust manifold. All this was done as I switched the vehicle back to Toyota red coolant and wanted to make sure that the cooling system was completely reliable. (113,000) Toyota "blue hub" fan clutch modified with high weight silicone fluid to improve cooling (modified by Landtank) All new Toyota belts (113,000) Installed JEGS air / oil separator in PCV hose to reduce amount of residual oil going into intake manifold PHH bypass using Gates green strip hose and constant tension hose clamps Removed the running boards and installed correct Toyota non-running board mud flaps Installed Land Rover Discovery cupholder on front console Scan Gauge II included with truck. Tires at about 80% on rear and 60% on fronts. This truck runs and drives very well. A/C blows very cold. If you have any questions about the truck, please message me. I can answer questions and send info as needed. The truck is located in Fort Worth and can be inspected with some notice. Non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction. This can be paid via paypal to make it easier on you. Full payment due within 7 days after end of auction and must be made in cash or cashiers check. Any check must fully clear my bank before vehicle will be surrendered. Likely will take 7-10 days. No warranty is offered or implied. I really encourage folks to look the truck over and will help facilitate a third-party inspection.
