Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false This is the one you have been waiting for everyone, an absolutely gorgeous restored 1 owner 1970 Mustang Mach 1, 4 speed, with original A/C, PDB, P/S, and much more. This Mach 1 has been my project for the past year and I had it completely restored mechanically along with the paint and body the only thing not completely restored was the interior, which is still in amazing mostly original shape with some new pieces. The first few pictures show the car how I bought it from the original owners family in a barn since 1982 and it still has the original trooper sticker on the side window from 1982. I had the body shop that does all my show cars completely repaint the entire car fixing any rust which was not much with METAL and making sure all the body lines and gaps were perfect. It was 500+ man-hours and over $9,000.00 but the paint job and bodywork are amazing straight as an arrow, no waves, all the stripes were painted on and cleared over so no peeling or flaking to worry about and you cannot feel any lines if you run your hand over them. First all the bodywork was completely to extremely strict standards with 3 coats of primer and sanding in-between coats. Then 3 coats of black were used tapped off for the stripes and followed by 4 coats of correct 1970 Grabber Yellow. The Mustang was originally painted with Medium Red Paint but every Mach 1 I see is practically red and nothing catches your eye better than a Grabber Yellow Fastback driving by. The last step was the clear coat in which 5 coats of clear were used to finish this stunning muscle car and then it was wet-sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. I had all the trim and moldings restored at the time of painting and new front and rear bumpers installed and anything else it needed at that time was bought new and replaced. As you can see from the pictures everything was done right. I chose not to install a rear spoiler or louvers as every Mustang I see has these and I love the extremely clean look of nothing but a slopped back and this one is a lot easier to see out of the back window without the louvers or spoiler installed. The original matching numbers engine and replaced 4-speed transmission were completely rebuilt to OEM standards and correctly detailed as you can see in the pictures. It runs astonishing and is absolutely the best shifting mustang I have ever owned. The interior remains mostly original as it was still in excellent shape although I had new correct NOS kick panels installed, and the front seats were recovered, other than those items the interior is all original and shows little wear. The door panels show little wear but are still extremely presentable as shown in the pictures. The headliner has a seam that came undone which is pictured. The only trim I can see missing in the interior is the radio bezel piece and the emblem that goes on the steering wheel everything else is there and in excellent shape. The Dash, Carpet, Console, Etc. are still in amazing condition. The brakes were completely redone from front to rear and stop on a dime. The steering is superb with the front end being extremely responsive and tight. The factory air-conditioning is all there including the compressor with the belt still on it, condenser, lines, box, etc. and blows out the vents but is still the original R12 and needs to be recharged to be functioning correctly again. All the wiring is original and was restored and works like new even the original turn signals in the hood scoop work correctly. The tires are new on the original sport wheels, and it has new aluminum dual exhaust with chrome tips. All the glass is original and in excellent shape with no cracks or fogging. The underneath is extremely solid and rust free and so is the trunk. This Mustang has been stored inside since it rolled off the factory assembly line and with only 1 owner there hasn't been any butchering of any kind done to this show piece. Below is a detailed list of the major components that have been restored or bought new on the Mach 1 this list is only a few of the items that have been redone there are so many new parts installed it is impossible to list them all. · Completely redone show quality 1970 Grabber Yellow paint and bodywork· Completely restored trim and moldings· New Front Bumper· New Rear Bumper· New Gas Tank· New Fuel Lines· New Sending Unit· Rebuilt Original Carburetor· Newly Rebuilt Matching Numbers 351 Cleveland with Fel-Pro Gaskets throughout runs better than new just touch the key and it roars to life.· Rebuilt 4-Speed Transmission with all new internals, this Mach 1 came factory with an automatic but had a 4-speed installed in the late 1970’s but with the complete rebuild it shifts like butter and is very enjoyable to drive and the Hurst Shifter gives it that muscle car feel.· New Clutch, New Clutch Fork, New Throw-out Bearing, and Assembly with New Clutch Cable.· Rebuilt Cooling System with Heavy Duty Radiator· New Brakes Front Disc to Rear Drum with New Rotors, New Drums, New Pads, New Shoes, New Calipers, New Wheel Cylinders, New Hardware, New Lines, Etc. Stops on a dime.· New Tires· Restored original wiring harness everything works, gauges, all interior lights, horn, door buzzer, reverse lockout, and even the original turn signals in the hood scoop that you can view from the windshield work correctly.· New Front Seats with New Foam and Covers, and Hardware· New NOS Kick Panels· New Aluminum True Dual Exhaust with Chrome Tips· Marti Report with all Factory Options Including Mach 1 Package, A/C, P/S, PDB, and Build Date.· Many more parts were replaced just too much to list. Overall this Mustang Mach 1 is one of the nicest driving cars I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I have fully restored high dollar pro-touring cars in my collection and this handles just as well. The ride is very solid no rattles, squeaks, or weird noises. This car is perfect for any collection or car show, or just to enjoy a nice ride every now and then. I will let the pictures do the talking from here but please wait for all of them to load as there is 150+ showing the restoration and every detail. I have many more pictures of the complete restoration for the lucky new owner to which I can supply but you can see how much time and money went into bringing this barn find back to life. I am selling the car to restore a 1963 Corvette 340 Horse car I acquired recently but if it does not meet the reserve I will be glad to keep it as it is truly a magnificent example of a Mach 1 and I would be hard pressed to find another one equally as nice. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if an agreeable offer is presented. I welcome local inspections and encourage them as I have nothing to hide and the car is as advertised, check my feedback I strive to satisfy my buyers. As with any classic car it is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. I have a clear Florida Title and the Marti Report. If you have any questions please call Frank at 863-381-3499 or 863-414-3079 if I do not answer leave a message and I will call you back. Thanks for Viewing and God Bless!
