Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1947 CJ2A. I restored it in 2009. Its a pretty good restoration, but I am not a professional. The body is solid, I used steel welded in to patch up any areas and used only parts that were like the original in thickness. The rear floor is totally new, except for the areas above the wheel wells. That was lumpy but it had no holes so I left it as is. Every part of the jeep was gone through, I used POR 15 on the frame as well. Motor was rebuilt, transmission was rebuilt as well. I tried to pay attention to detail as much as I could, the stickers on the motor and the outer stickers on the body are original style reproductions. All parts that could be reused were in fact reused. Converted to 12 volt, has an old style starter that is 12 volt as well, not pushing a 6 volt starter so no need to worry about burning it up. All original style cloth wiring. If you wanted to go and do this on your own and get it to look as original as you could, this is what you would have done. It starts quickly, I don't even choke it. The carb could use a little adjusting I am sure, its an original Carter carb that was correct for this jeep. I have not connected the throttle cable yet. The owner's manual is a reproduction, as are the body tags on the firewall, although I have the originals as well so you can see the numbers all match. The frame tag matches the body tags. Frame tag is the original, a rarity for these old guys to even still have the tag. The bad: The rear end has a bit of a whine now, it could be coming from the brake drums which did not get turned...one of the things I forgot to do when I installed the new brakes. A cat got on the new seats and poked some little holes in the seats. They are fine otherwise, but the passenger seat will need new covers to be perfect. I purchased those covers from Northstar Willys in Minnesota. There are two head bolts leak a bit of antifreeze, these can be sealed easily. The oil gauge doesn't register much oil pressure, but I would be hard pressed to believe that the jeep does not get good oil pressure since I have driven it around quite a bit and it has ran fine with no issues. I think its the gauge really. They are all new gauges and the fuel gauge doesn't work, these issues sometimes pop up with these new gauges since they just aren't up to the specs of the old gauges in my opinion. The paint on the rims has chipped off in some spots, and the paint on the windshield interior wasn't applied evenly on the top part of the frame leaving a lighter area (it was handing upside down when being painted and my buddy just missed this spot, and it wasn't noticed until later). The front end needs aligned. The parking brake and all the parts are on it, it just doesn't hold very well. So, it has its issues but it is a nice little rig for someone who wants to take it all the way home to spotless. I could do all this myself, but I have lost interest and just want to give it a good home and hope that someone else will enjoy working the bugs out of my work and having a ride they can show off. I am going to throw in an original drivers side heater (the old body still has the knockouts in place for the drivers side heater, no, I didnt replace the firewall). I also have some other parts, a PTO shifter, another set of front and rear axles and 5:38 ring an pinion (just in case the rear end needs it, perhaps the whine isn't the brakes, but try shimming it up more if it continues), and other body parts and another new gas tank. I will have several parts that will go with this, some of them are at my friends house. I have named off the big ones. I doubt there are many that are like this, so close to being perfect. I am not selling this locally, there is no reason to contact me to try to and work out a deal, I am following ebay rules completely. I have priced it very fair for what it is, if you have any questions, feel free to email and we will talk about it. Thanks!
