Up for auction is this 1979 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. It belongs to a customer who asked if I would list it for her. She has owned this car for close to 10 years now. It originally came from Florida. The car is in real decent shape. Runs and drives very well. Even sitting for a period of time it starts instantly. It has been in storage for the past couple of years now as she has not used it much and has other interests. It recently had a new Hartz top installed to the tune of $2,700. She also had a fairly exspensive Alpine CD player installed. The interior is in very good condition. The body on the car appears to be nice and solid. The underside looks nice also. Excellent blue metallic paint job not sure how long ago it was done. All the tires are in good shape, has chrome wheels but there is some peelage on a couple of the rims that has started to rust. All the glass is good. Windows roll up and down fine and they fit nicely to the top. Has the original boot for the top. Doors open and close great with no sagging. The only thing I can find fault with is the brakes stop the car fine but the pedal seems to travel a little lower than normal. Maybe there is a little air in the line or the brakes may need adjusting. Over all I believe this to be an above average beetle convertible. Would make an excellent summer ride or great gift for the wife. Also this being the last year for the early beetle convertible it would be a good investment.
