Up for auction is a 1974 Rolls Royce Silvershadow in running condition. I am relisting this vehicle because the winning bidder notified me that he was unable to pay what he had bid. So PLEASE only bid if you intend to purchase. This car belongs to a friend of mine who bought the car in 2009 just as a toy to drive around in parades. He bought another Rolls and this one was moved outside to where a tree branch fell on the car and made a little dent on the drivers rear fender and a scratch on the hood as you can see in the pictures. I started storing the car last year for him and it has been sitting in my garage since then. He has finally decided that he has too many cars so he asked me to go ahead and sell this one. The car has always started right up when I have needed to move it, it moves freely. I have only driven it around my neighborhood, I have never had it out on the interstate but it rides well. He had the brakes done shortly before I began storing it, they seem to work fine. I do not know alot about these cars so I tried to take enough pictures so that you can see the condition of the car. As I said, the car starts right up and the transmission engages properly without any issues. I have noticed that when you start the car there is blue oil smoke from the exhaust. I believe this is being caused by oil getting into the combustion chambers because the valve guides have gotten dry due to the car sitting so much and not being run. I also believe that if you took the car and drove it for awhile this problem would clear up. When the car warms up there is very little, if any exhaust smoke, for that reason I believe just running the car on a regular basis will clear this problem up. It doesn't leak water or overheat, a couple of the power windows don't work, could be a switch, I don't know. The drivers window works, that really is the only one I have had down. My friend had a CD player put in but he can't find the detachable face plate. There are some cosmetic issues with trim pieces,and the kick panels will need some attention, but overall the car is in pretty good shape for a nearly 40 year old vehicle. The obvious advantage is that the car is drivable and my friend has put a very reasonable reserve on the car. Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the interior and door panels are still in very good condition and the head liner is intact.
