Up for bid is a 1994 Chevy Caprice wagon with 145k two owner miles. Lifelong SC car - zero body rust and a spotless undercarriage. Medium garnet red metallic with grey interior. Loaded up with power everything and most options work. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power and the 2.93 open rear end (GW9 & V92 build codes) maximize traction to the pavement. Trailer preparation "tow package" equipped - car rated to pull 5000 lbs but no hitch installed (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches.) Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. Good condition overall with a handful of minor cosmetic issues consistent with age. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature - newer radiator. Newer battery & good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. Shifts perfectly. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is pretty straight and totally solid. No body rust, no bondo. Has some small dents on right rear quarter, tailgate, and right front corner of hood, all visible in pictures. About average body. Paint: Paint is nice and shiny in most spots. There are small fade spots on the right front side hood and above taillights as seen in pics and some scratches low on left quarterpanel as seen in pics. Also about average for age. Other: Beltline trim fake plastic "chrome" is okay with some plastic fade in spots, but mostly on the front bumper and tailgate. Plastic bumpers are in good shape with some nicks low on the front bumper. Glass is all good but has a tiny rock chip in the windshield. Undercarriage is just beautiful - no rust - super solid lifelong southern car. Underhood sheet metal, tailgate sill and door jambs have no rust. Spoked hubcaps are in good shape with a little curb rash and one center cap emblem missing. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in good shape. Carpets are in good shape with some staining under floor mats, dash has three small cracks as seen in pics, door panels are in great shape. Seats are clean and in good shape with a couple marks. Headliner is in great shape. Steering wheel is in nice shape with minor dye wear consistent with miles. Car was smoked in at some point in past but no smoke odors. Nice interior overall; about average. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, button horn, wipers, etc.) The rear wiper and hatch release do not work (but hatch opens with key from outside the car,) all other power stuff works properly including power windows, power locks, dual power seats, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo, power antenna, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. As is typical of these digital dash Caprices, the display doesn't always show the miles (works about 95% of the time) - speedometer always reads, though. All power windows work properly without coming off track. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out well - steering and suspension are reasonably tight and alignment is good. Brakes work well - good linings, no vibration. Tires have about 70% tread remaining rear, 30% front - rear tires and left front all match but right front is a different brand. Solid, quiet exhaust with no leaks. Rear end is quiet - no whining. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - nice driver - jump in an drive anywhere.
