Vehicle Detail

Attention collectors, new riders and seasoned bikers; There have been a few SL350K1s on ebay lately...This is the one you want! For your consideration is a 1971 Honda SL350K1. This is arguably Honda’s first purpose built off road bike, fitted with Honda’s venerable 350 twin engine. This bike is in Fabulous Condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It has just undergone a meticulous restoration/reconditioning. The engine has been disassembled down to the crank. Engine components have been checked and are in excellent condition, well within factory specifications. The top end has been expertly rebuilt and reassembled with all new OEM Honda seals and gaskets. Since restoration, this SL has logged about 300 miles in the last few weeks and is in exceptional working condition. It’s not very often something this nice comes around so don’t miss out on your opportunity to own this wonderful SL350 just in time for the summer. Ride it cross country, show it or just sit it in your living room to admire it. She's ready for anything you are! I’ve been restoring Honda 350 twins exclusively for more than a decade. I build a couple per year. This SL350 is one of the best. Check my feedback. You won’t be disappointed! Everything works as new including all electrics, even the stock Honda charging system charges perfectly (13.2volts at idle and 14.8 above 3,000 RPMs) Bike is fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere. Restoration services completed within the last 6 months include: Bike completely disassembled down to the crank Frame swingarm and all brackets blasted and powder coated Engine bead blasted and clear coated with Eastwood Diamond clear coat. Fuel tank, side covers, headlight shell and fenders professionally painted a sumptuous candy apply red and are absolutely stunning. Wiring harness completely reconditioned to OEM spec New 520 Chain New Hagon Rear shocks (over $300) New fuel line and clips New petcock New air filters New throttle cable New clutch cable New speedo cable New front brake cable New tach cable New spark plug caps New Honda reproduction seat cover New rubber intake grommets New Old Stock period-correct Hooker Headers New OEM Honda grips New OEM Honda fork seals and bushings New OEM Honda Spokes front and back (wheels professionally trued) New OEM Honda head bearings New OEM Honda carburetor rebuild kits for both carburetors New OEM Honda engine gaskets and seals (every one has been replaced) New OEM Honda cam chain tensioner rubber rollers New OEM Honda foot-peg rubbers. New OEM Honda 1st over (.25mm) pistons, rings and wrist pins New OEM Honda Valves Cylinders professionally bored and valve seats professionals cut with head and cylinders lightly decked New Shinko correct tread pattern tires, rim strips and tubes front and back New battery Disclosures: The speedometer on the bike appears to be a 1970 SL350K0 Speedo (the K1 speedos typically had a trip meter). This is the Speedometer that was on the bike when I acquired it. The mileage matches the title so either the speedometer was changed early in it's life or Honda may have had some leftover K0 gauges that it installed at the factory (which it sometimes did in that era). The condition of the engine and transmission indicate to me that this is in fact a very low mileage bike. The majority of the chrome pieces on the bike were pitted beyond my liking so I sand blasted them all and treated them to a dual stage powder coating. The base layer powder coat is Silver with a Clear powder top coat which gives the look of a Satin Nickle finish. The following parts received this treatment: handlebars, headlight bezel, tail light bracket, handlebar cable guide, both rims, rear fender mount bracket, rear brake pedal. I think the pictures show the exceptional condition accurately. The bike is available for inspection by appointment. Please contact me via email to schedule. No test rides will be permitted until bike has been paid for in full. Bids from bidders with less then 10 positive feedback will be cancelled. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis if the bidder discusses with me BEFORE placing a bid. Bike is for sale as is where is. No shipping is offered or included. A $500 deposit is due via pay pal from the winning bidder within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance is due in cash (no exceptions) at time of pickup.
