Vehicle Detail

Hot-rodder and custom car fan, Mr. Harry Bentley Bradley (he also designed the first series of Hot Wheels in 1967 among MANY other things) was the designer of the NEW Chevy truck for 1967.He said the small window in the light series pickup was to evoke the look and feel of the early 3-Window Coupes like the classic '32 Ford. He was upset when GM eliminated that window in '68 and even more upset when they changed the nose in '69 because his '67 design was deemed "too pretty" compared to the competition. 1967 was the only year a small window was available; I have not been able to find out how many short-beds were made, but have been told that many of the small window trucks were either long-beds or ¾-ton trucks. The front-end design was also only available for 67 & 68. Many believe Mr. Bradley’s original "slant nose" design is the best looking of the 67-72 C/10’s, just as some prefer the original 55 Chevy over the other tri-fives. This is a great SMALL WINDOW/SHORTBED example of Mr. Bradley’s original design. This truck was loved and fixed up by an older gentleman who recently passed away. He purchased and fixed up the truck in the early 1990’s. He drove the truck sparingly and kept the truck garaged. The truck is really nice (NOT PERFECT) and is a great truck to drive to car shows, cruise inns and out on the town. He had recently installed rebuilt a 350 v-8. The motor has been rebuilt stock with a slightly larger cam, headers, Edelbrock Performer intake, dual exhaust, and I just installed a brand new Holley 670 Street Avenger carburetor. It has a manual transmission (three on the tree), power steering, and manual brakes. The chrome is in excellent shape along with the paint. There is one scratch on the driver’s door shown in the pictures. The body is very solid with very little to no rust. There is one spot in the pictures I have shown where wires are running through a channel, I do not know if the channel was rusted or cut out to access something. The only things I know that are wrong on the truck are this: The horn button on the steering wheel does not work, it has an old school button below the dash. The key switch does not engage the starter; there is a push button next to the key switch. The speedometer does not currently work (so true mileage unknown, I just filled in some numbers for the required field), I am going to look at it this week but do not guarantee it will be fixed. The reverse lights are on a toggle switch, this looks to have been done years ago. The old AM radio does not work, but it is the original and I would not replace it. This truck is sold as is with NO RESERVE, with no warranty implied or given. International sales are welcome only if purchaser assumes all expense related to shipping and payment (if paying in full by PayPal, purchaser must pay PayPal’s fees). The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early despite any bidding. Feel free to come and look at the truck in the Lynchburg VA area or call me at 434-660-7779. On Jun-17-13 at 20:23:34 PDT, seller added the following information:Some have asked if there is a reserve on this truck: there is no reserve. This truck is going to sell to the highest bidder. On Jun-18-13 at 04:47:16 PDT, seller added the following information:I have more pictures of the truck, if anybody wants to see them send me you e-mailOn Jun-18-13 at 14:35:14 PDT, seller added the following information:TRUE MILEAGE: I have had some questions concerning how many miles the truck has. It does not have a half a million miles, I just filled in some numbers to satisfy ebay ( I was on the couch and was a little lazy and didn't walk out to the garage and check) the odometer states 87491, it might be true miles since this truck drives so tight. On Jun-19-13 at 16:29:12 PDT, seller added the following information:One guy bided higher on my truck and then retracted, then my original bidder spent his money elsewhere and had to retract his bid (not his fault). None of this auction drama had anything to do with the truck. Please don't bid unless you mean it. Thank You
