Vehicle Detail
1948 Austin of England 2 door Devon coupe This your chance to own a very unique little car. The car is an all original 1948 Austin of England Devon. I bought the car to street rod it or make a gasser out it and I found another Austin that was already a 1960's survivor gasser rather than cut up this little guy. Let me also say my last name is Austin and I currently own 4 of these wild little cars. They were imported to the US as an economy car / small car for that timeframe. Most of the cars saw road miles but later found their way to the emerging "gasser " classes being started by the drag racing sanctioning bodies in the 60s. So this little guy has been a survivor for a while. The car is unique enough that the website (Austin County Cars) I belong to, asked to write an article about it and included it in their English publication ( see attached article). General summary of the overall condition and attributes 4 cylinder motor ( not running and have not tried to get it running - was never going to use it Small headlight front end ( a bit rarer )Manual transmission Body in very good shape as seen in pictures taken the day of posting this ad 6/9/2013Original hubcaps (4)Beauty ring (1)New rubber for car (boxed) Bumpers -but I am told one is not correct - see article included in ad I can be contacted by cell phone ( 434 -941-1321) Dennis Austin after 4:30PM / 16:30 PM EST with questions. If by chance I do not answer please leave a message and will return the call. I have tried to capture most any item with a good picture. My first preference is to sell the car outright but may consider trades if it does not reach the reserve at auctions end. Trades would need to be street rod type vehicles and I would give money difference if it interested me enough. I do not have it advertised anywhere else at this time and do not intend to end the auction early ( I hate when people do that). The reserve is quite a bit less than I gave for the car as well as less than I have seen less Austin sell for recently. Good Luck and let the bidding commence.
