Vehicle Detail

Here offered is a 1969 Fiat 850 Spider. I looked at several over a period of years and this one is by far the best I have seen. Complete and original. The story told to me by the previous owner is as follows. The car was found in a barn at an estate sale in Alabama. Persons associated with the estate sale claimed it was parked in that barn for nearly twenty years....untouched. The owner I purchased the car from bought it for he and his wife so they could drive it on sunny Saturdays for picnics. It did not take me long to understand why he was selling the car. When I arrived to inspect the car I observed several vintage muscle cars parked in the heated building. One was what appeared to be a brand new Mercury Cyclone. Next to that were two Shelby Cobra Mustangs and a Grand Torino. All appeared to be NEW. Understandably, the gentleman's interest in this 4 cylinder classic Italian convertible wore off. He claimed to have completely gone through the brake and fuel systems which I have no doubt he did. I have owned the car over two years and it has been awesome. Like all previous owners the car has not been left outside and only driven from May to September up here in Indiana. I have put approx. 800 miles on the car. Several 50 to 75 mile drives. Many 20 mile drives around town and back. I was fortunate enough to run into the only Fiat mechanic who worked on these back in the late 60's in Indianapolis. He rebuilt the original weber carb. for me. Checked everything else out and, with a big smile, gave the car thumbs up. As far as I can tell this Spider is nearly 100% complete. I say nearly because I know the spring action hood (up front) latch is missing. I also believe the chrome "Fiat" emblem above the 850 on the rear is missing. The only other mentionable is the clear plastic window in the original convertible top is missing. That's it. Period. The body and paint are original. A couple paint chips missing from over 44 years, but, still looks good and turns heads everywhere I have driven it. No body fillers or aftermarket accessories have been added like luggage racks or stereo. Once these go on they change the car forever. If you are looking for a true original, complete survivor, this is it. Please only bid if you know what this car is and what your looking at. This is not a drag car or fast sports car. This car was manufactured in Italy and originally intended to traverse their crazy one lane twisty roads. I would not push this car for long periods past 65 miles per hour. That said, I would treat any 44 year old car this same way. Fuel mileage is around 40mpg. Inexpensive and fun to drive. Magic. I have another classic on the way and need to raise funds or I would simply keep it. I strongly recommend a visual inspection to satisfy all your concerns. Low reserve. Please don't ask. $500.00, non-refundable due at closing via PayPal. Balance paid in cash at time of pick-up. I would like the car to be picked up and balance paid within two weeks of auction close. No warranty expressed or implied. Buyers with less than 10 feedbacks please contact me before bidding. Thanks for looking and Good Luck with your bidding!
