ANYONE WHO KNOWS THESE JEEPS KNOW HOW STURDY THE 4.0 ENGINE IS, WITH PROPER CARE THEY WILL RUN NEARLY FOREVER. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS CORRECTLY AND STRONG. THE ENGINE RUNS STEADY AND STRONG. THE 4WD POSITIONS ALL WORK CORRECTLY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS JEEP MYSELF TO MAKE SURE, AND I HAVE FOUND NO BIG ISSUES TO REPORT. Whether you want this for transportation or for a build up vehicle, anyone that knows Jeep products knows that the WJ is the last Grand Cherokee considered by those that care about such things to be a "real" Jeep. After that they were just another Chrysler/Daimler product and started having all sorts of changes. Whether better or worse in some opinions, the Grand Cherokee has never been a "real' Jeep again. The WJ has aftermarket products available for those that want to rebuild or enhance and they are respected as off road capable vehicles unlike most of the current Jeep lineup. A Jeep dealer will tell you different and a Jeep aftermarket company will sell you all kinds of products for your JK Wrangler or your newer Grand or your Liberty or one of the even sillier things like a Compass, but believe me, nobody thinks the newer vehicles are actually Jeeps anymore. Just a bit of Jeep trivia for those that find it interesting. A real Jeeper is like a Harley Davidson fanatic, only a "real" Jeep is a Jeep, and this one qualifies. Also as far as the multitude of engines Jeep products have carried over the years, the 4.0 liter straight six has got to be the favorite Jeep engine of all time.
