Vehicle Detail

2003 F250 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel XLT 4WD Supercab Pickup Truck Truck registration and primary use has been in the States of Kentucky and Virginia so there has been limited exposure to salt. The truck has had a mixed history of types of use. The original owner drove it like a family car for the first few years and then decided to run up the power using a 6 way Bully Dog chip, cold intake system and custom exhaust while pulling light but large frontal area loads. This decision resulted in 2 burnt pistons and over $10,000 out of his pocket to have Ford install a remanufactured long block (XC3Z-6006-AARM) and new engine control module (2C3Z-12A650-DF) at 73,000 miles. I will provide the successful bidder with a copy of the Ford dealership receipt for this work. After this very expensive lesson he gave up pulling these loads with the truck, installed boost and exhaust temperature gauges and for the next 20,000 miles drove it gently again with the knowledge of what can happen when you make bad choices. I purchased the truck in 2009 at 92,000 miles and have pulled nothing more than a light formula race car 6-8 times a year to tracks within 4-5 hours from my home. Except for a handful of times when I had to satisfy my curiosity about what happens when you turn the dial up; the chip got used in its most conservative fuel efficient position during my ownership. I put 23,000 easy miles on the truck. During my ownership I installed (2) Interstate MTP65 batteries 01/2011; wheel bearing and ball joints on 1 side at approximately 93,000 miles (other side had just been done by original owner). I also had the transmission replaced (1C3Z-7V000-FRM) at the Ford Dealership on Jan 02, 2012 at 113,670 miles out of an abundance of caution because of a very small hairline crack they discovered during a regular service. I will also provide a copy of this Ford Dealership receipt to successful bidder. The original window sticker shown with this listing shows the original MSRP and specification for the truck. Since then (to the best of my knowledge) the Bully Dog Chip, cold air intake, custom exhaust, boost and exhaust temperature gauges were added. Also a B&W turnover ball gooseneck hitch and Rough Country leveling kit have been installed. The Good 2003 was last model year for a great engine, the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel; some would argue that it was another 8 years before Ford again started powering their trucks with an engine expected to provide a comparable level of reliability. Only 115,000 total miles on a truck model that based upon model history should provide excellent service for several hundred thousand miles. Two owner vehicleJust passed Virginia State Inspection on 4/29/2013. While mostly about lights, horn, wipers, etc; it also includes brake inspection. Not perfect but very nice cosmetic condition inside and out. Only 43,000 miles on 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel since full long block replacement by Ford Only 1,400 miles on automatic transmission since replacement by Ford. The Bad Tires passed inspection April 29, 2013 but don’t have a lot of life left in them. They ride rough and replacement would improve the ride considerable. Installation of the custom exhaust ran too close to the spare tire and without modification to the exhaust a spare cannot be carried in the underbed location. Scratches and scuffs typical of a used but well cared for 10 year truck but nonetheless one that is 10 years old. I detailed truck with a cleaner polish before pictures and as you can see it looks great. I am confident that with a little more work and a bit more aggressive compound that 95% of remaining exterior defects would be fixed. Interior front seats show signs of wear in seating and armrest areas. Front drivers side fender has a pretty solid parking lot door ding as does the rear passenger side door. Cover is missing from trailer wiring connector Passenger side hood strut comes out of its receptacle on hood and needs replacement Driver’s side exterior mirror electric controls are not functional. Two quarter size marks on hood where paint was scraped off by mirror attachments that have since been removed. There had been a spill on the passenger side floor mat that the original owner clipped out. It is mostly under the floor mat but it is there. Additional Notes Vehicle is also for sale locally and seller reserves the right to withdraw vehicle from this Ebay auction early should an acceptable local offer be made prior to the first Ebay auction bid.I encourage all bidders to come inspect the truck before bidding. Recognizing that this may be difficult for many I have specified a 7 day period after bid end for final payment and for the successful bidder to make a final inspection and to have the opportunity to recind their offer should they find the truck not up to their expectations. I do require that the deposit be made exactly as specified in this bid listing and will cancel the bid and relist if that does not occur. Should the successful bidder make the deposit as required and decide they do not want to proceed with their purchase after they have made or arranged for a final inspection, I will return the successful bidders deposit in full.
