Vehicle Detail
*** Please read the whole description and look at all of the photos before bidding - Thanks! *** 1960 Ford Falcon Ranchero - parts or project car. No Title - will be sold with a Bill of Sale. Currently 'off record' at California DMV. I also have no keys for it (ignition is missing lock cylinder - can start with a screwdriver) VIN is 0R27S186088 (stamped on drivers side shock tower brace) I got it in a trade and thought about fixing it up - but I have too many projects and not enough $ to go around. Appears to have original 144 straight 6 (might be a 170, block and head are both C1DE castings. Block has 3 freeze plugs and both 144 & 170s have 3 freeze plugs) and 3 speed (2.77). Runs and drives - I have driven it around my neighborhood. Engine has the 1 barrel Holley carb with the 'spark control valve' and load-o-matic points distributor. Freeze plugs leak some (rusted through). Engine has a little bit of tappet noise but it has solid lifters with adjustable rockers - so maybe they are out of adjustment or the cam is worn. The engine does run smooth and has steady vacuum. (See the pics the details I mention in the description) Has 13" slotted mags on the front, and a "donut" spare on one side on the rear, and a rim off of another vehicle with the same bolt pattern on the other. Also comes with a 13" steel rim that looks like its the original style for the car, but the tire does not hold air. Floor has some rust and someone had previously put sheet metal on top of the rusted floor and rived it in place, also has 'house' carpet on the floor right now. It has bucket seats, not sure from what kind of car. They look about late 80s to early 90s vintage. They are in pretty good shape, just a little dirty. There is no headliner. Visors are there, but are dirty and the passengers side one does not want to flip down. Speedometer is not hooked up, odometer reads 51,281 - I assume this is 151,281 (cable is missing the part with the gear that goes into the transmission). Parking brake is also not hooked up and looks like it is missing part of the linkage) Fuel line is ran inside to the interior so you can drop the line into a gas can to run the car. This was also like this when I got it, so I don't know why they did this. I can only assume there is a problem with the line or the tank. The tank does not appear to have any holes or external damage I can see. Maybe the line or the sender is plugged. The bed does not have any rust I can see, I tried finding some weak spots with a pick, but did not find any spots that would go through. Tailgate goes up and down, but has a crack and some damage on the inner part on the drivers side. Right rear quarter below the taillight has a hole (gouge?) and looks like it has filler around that as well. Left rear quarter has a dent where filler can be seen around it - also below the taillight area. The taillight lenses look like they are from 2 different years. There is some rust on the passengers side of the radiator support area. Chrome is peeling from front bumper and is bent in a few places. Rear bumper is in better shape with no major peeling but does look like its bent or the brackets are bent. Appears to be some rust in the rocker panel area behind the door (rust color in the body line). I pushed in this area with a pick and it was not weak at all. Grille is in overall good shape - no breaks in it. Slightly bent in a few places. It could be easily straightened and cleaned up and be great for a 'driver'. All of the glass is intact and has no cracks. Windshield does have slight scratches from the wipers, they just barely catch your fingernail - it would probably come out with some glass polishing compound. Back window has some heavier scratches on the outside - probably from objects in the bed rubbing on it. There is some light 'pitting' on the inside of the glass (looks like from grinding, probably when the did the floor - there is an example in the pics as well) in these areas: drivers side window - upper rear portion. drivers side vent window - very little. windshield - lower right side. passengers side vent window. rear window - very little. None found on the passengers side window. Not sure if these would come out with compound or not. Some can barely be seen , but can be felt. Both doors are not original to the car, they do not match the interior color, the data plate on the drivers door was from a '62 Falcon. Both windows roll up and down, both door handles work as well. Hinge is broken or missing the spring mechanism on the drivers side - so the door can over-extended (there is some damage to the door from this happening). There is some rust in the lower front corner of the drivers door. I don't see any rust in the passengers door. There is a small 'crease' in the passengers door on the outside. Passengers side front fender has 3 dents on the top, drivers side has 1 dent on top but also has a indention in the front where it looks like the front bumper made contact with it. The hood has a dent around the "O" Ford letters, and is also missing the "R" Headlights, taillights, front parking lights work. Brake lights, dash lights, and turn signals do not work. GEN and OIL light both work and go out right after the engine is started. Not sure if gas gauge works (since tank is not being used). Temp gauge does not appear to work, but the wire is just wrapped around the sender terminal. Generator also charges. Brakes do work, but pull badly and have to be pumped a couple of times before they start working (probably bad master cylinder). If you wanted to put this car back on the road I would recommend completely going through the brakes, front end (suspension/steering), etc. Vehicle is located in Madera, CA (Central California) and will have to be trailered. I would like the vehicle to be picked up within 7 days of the auction close. I can be flexible on this if more time is needed to pick up the car. I am requiring a $200 non-refundable deposit be paid by PayPal within 48 hours of the auctions end. Remaining balance is due upon pick-up of vehicle. I tried to cover everything I could find or could see. If you have any questions - please do not hesitate to ask! Does not come with battery or gas can - I will provide the battery and gas can to test drive or drive onto your trailer. Thanks for looking! Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
