Vehicle Detail

Private sale fell through. Have a lower reserve price. Here is a beautiful 1972 Chevrolet Impala Sports Sedan (no post.) Medium blue in color, it has a forceful 400/2bbl engine which runs quietly and auto trans shifts smoothly. With only 58K original miles on it, it first sold new on 6/28/1972 at the Berry Chevrolet Company Dealership, Sweet Springs, Mo. The VIN number on the firewall, owners manual Svce plate, drivers door data plate, and title all matches (VIN listed above) and has a manufacturing date of 6/72. You can keep this as an oldie or 'donk' it- whatever that really means. With its blue color body and matching vinyl top- both of which mostly faded, there are area's where the primer is exposed on the body, scattered scratches or peeling of base color (left front fender- reason unknown), slight oxidation behind the rear glass under the vinyl top- typical for these vehicles and the lower r fender, door- see pics. Also superficial oxidation rear front fenders. I took a large magnet with a cloth and glided it over the front fenders (front/rear aspects), rear doglegs, and rear quarters. Magnet stayed attached over all. Small indention on L fender, L rear quarter just under curvature of back glass where someone may have leaned against it. Also, 2 small dents on passenger side. Expand photo's accordingly. Trunk, lid in great condition with trunk interior once having been painted something black and thick. All interior seating area lighting, trunk deck lid and under hood lights all in working order. Although this is a base model, it is equipped with a/c (does not work), tilt wheel, Jensen AM/FM Cassette Stereo, and rear window defroster. The stereo/cassette player works well and does not eat tapes. Pretty much original except for stereo and the usual mechanical stuff such as battery, belts, hoses, etc. through the years. The windshield once had a chip in it and it was entirely replaced- not patched. No buckling/stains with package tray. Dash looks extremely well preserved. I do admit I keep a towel over the dash when it is parked outside. Front bench seat/rear seating areas with no tears, rips. Seats are of a detailed vinyl covering. Leather interior seatingt would come later in the decade. Carpeting, seat belts looks great. No interior fading noted. Non-smoker although there have been times when people would speak of a 'faint new car smell'. My smeller is not the best. Garage kept. With its true full size, chome bumpers with 'tusk' sized guards (front and rear), and chrome side molding, it commands attention when out in public. These are becoming more rare as time goes by. Still has manufacturing safety wrapper on passenger side sun visor and original glove box documents. Engine compartment still pretty much clean. Full sized spare tire, all jack components present. And get this, 'Fasten Seat Belt' light works with buzzer when car placed in 'drive' position until front occupants are buckled up. The seat belt system consists of lapbelts located in floor on either side of the front bench seat and shoulder belts which suspend from the ceiling of the car. They can be tucked away out of sight as they are now. The two hook together to provide maximum protection then click into the receiving seat belt buckle in the seat. That is for the front seat only. There are also individual seat belts for the rear seating area as well. All seat belts are blue to match the interior. Can accommodate up to 6 adults comfortably. Engine runs strong, xmission shifts smoothly. Although I have never had to add oil, xmission fluid, occass some red xmission drops noted on floor. Engine does not smoke nor use oil. Tires have appx 600 miles on them. All chrome trim and bumpers looks great! I purchased it with my childhood memories in mind of what my grandparents had from years ago and to share with my nephew. Out of personal tragedy and health concerns, I feel it is time to sell so others can enjoy it. This is a 40+ year old automobile with some nicks, dings, chips, and an occass drip. The previous owner denied any accidents, major mechanical issues when I purchased it. By the appearance of it, it has been pretty much untouched throughout the years except for maintenance. See photo's and email if any concerns prior to bidding. Photo's taken on a day with overcast. I have posted several photo's as they can show more than I can describe. You will have to admit, it will be very difficult to beat this one for its age. I have tried my best to describe to you everything. Now, its your turn. Please ask... As with any large purchase, please consider all costs associated with purchasing and transporting before bidding. Buyer assumes full responsibility for arranging pick-up at residence/delivery. $500.00 due 24 hours upon winning bid via paypal, balance within 7 days. No transfer of funds in person. No warranty implied nor expressed. Being sold 'as-is.' Auction good for Continental United States, Canada only. Sale final so ask and I'll answer what I know. Will hold car for up to 30 days post auction only, then it will be $200.00/month to hold it.
