Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 2002 Honda 954 since I bought a 2006 1000RR a few months ago. I was reading a British motorcycle magazine in February and, in their review of the 954, they called it "The most balanced, complete litre bike ever." I've been riding both bikes and I understand what the reviewers meant by the "balanced, complete" comment. The 954 is really a perfect bike but I took the plunge and I can't go back now. I've owned the bike for one year, almost to the day. I don't know how many prior owners the bike had. I haven't done anything to the bike. I've always thought it doesn't need anything changed. I've made it a point to ride the bike regularly. I've put almost 2,000 miles on it. Every time I go out to ride it the bike starts right up and runs beautifully. I've never had a problem with the brakes, the clutch, the engine or anything else. I always ride on back roads outside of Tallahassee, typically 25 to 50 miles per ride. I don't commute on the bike or ride it around town. The bike has a steering damper and micron exhaust. The prior owner installed "race railz" on the bike but you can take them off easily if you don't like them. I left them on since they are a good safety feature. I don't have a garage so I kept the bike outside. I cover it and I always take the cover off immediately after it rains. I dry the cover inside and out, let the bike dry out without the cover, then put the cover back on. That's the best I can do since I don't have a garage. I have only 1 key for the bike. I have an owner's manual for a 2003 model that the prior owner gave me. The rear footpegs were taken off the bike. I have them in a box. The bike has a scratch on the gas tank that is about two inches long. See picture. There are a few little nicks here and there, but nothing significant. There is a scratch on the lower part of the fairing but you won't notice it when you look at the bike. I never dropped the bike and I don't see any indication that the prior owners did either. I don't like reserves so I'm listing the bike at a fair opening price. Kelley BB is $2,970 for trade, $4,350 retail. But I won't sell it for less than $3,500. Buyer will need to pick up the bike in Tallahassee. The bike has a new chain, tires are in good shape and I just had the oil changed so it's ready to go. Please call me at 850-212-8864 if you have any questions about the bike. Thanks.
