OCTOBER 1959 Car: Chassis(Floor Pan)- #2722248 Front Axle - #2721031 Engine - #3673438 You are looking at a great example of a stock Beetle with gorgeous black/white exterior look.This is excellent quality exemplar to drive it as is or make a little effort to convert it in a one of kind Show Car. HISTORY: Second owner sold it to me 3 years ago with 78732 actual miles on the odometer.The car is complete professional body off restoration,overhaul engine, renovation interior.The restoration of this car took 2 years. It is very expensive and not easy to find original parts.Each and every nut, bolt, washer, bracket, harness, clip, trim piece, handle, pulley, knob cable, etc...was disassembled, categorized, bagged and shelved. I tried to use EVERY ORIGINAL body panel including the shell, doors, fenders, hood, trunk lid, even the quarter panels were non rusty, ..every piece was to be used and re-assembled as original..ABSOLUTELY NO AFTERMARKET junk ON THIS CAR.... I insisted on ORIGINAL and with the exception of the quarter floor pan(under battery) and aprons which are Wolfsburg West reproductions, all the body parts on this car are original to the car. Wherever ORIGINAL parts/pieces that simply could not be restored, The Samba members provided original usable parts, and when that didn't work, ONLY Wolfsburg West (WW) parts were used. ~EVERYTHING WORKS ON THIS CAR~ It is quite hard to find a classic car in original/stock great condition. THE BODY: stripped to total steel splendor nakedness , was sandblasted, sealed and painted. YES...the window channels were amazingly solid & excellent, NO typical rust whatsoever! Photos of restoration process, you can look at the website. Ask me and I'll send address for website. Original color of the car was black(L41) I found it in the trunk. Main color black was chosen like the original. White was chosen for contrast. PPG mixed 2 stage base/clear body color were applied and multiple coats of UV protected clear topcoats applied, hand sanded and buffed to an almost PERFECT brilliant glossy finish. THE CHASSIS: it had, for the most part, basically VERY solid original floors, with the exception of the typical battery area. This part replaced. Pieces of the chassis, suspension, tie rods, torsion arms, steering box, axle beam, transaxle, steering arms, brake backing plates, 'e' brake levers, engine pulleys, and on & on. These parts were sandblasted, prepared, and painted BLACK, semi-gloss. THE ENGINE & MECHANICAL:The engine had overhaul. The original crankshaft had been grinding +.10". Replaced pistons,cylinders,main & rods bearings,gaskets & sealers. The numbers on the motor, cylinder heads, distributor, carb & alt were researched and determined this is the original 36 hp 1.2 liter engine. The Engine runs great.OEM Bosch Distributor,6 volt Bosch regulator,New 6 volt Coil,OEM Solex28PCI Carb, OEM Fuel Pump,OEM Heater Boxes,New German Muffler. Transmission: New Clutch disk,clutch cable,Axel boots, EMPY R/F transmission mounts. Brakes: OEM Refurbished Master Cylinder, F & R drums. New Wheel Cylinders, Brake Shoes. Adjustable Front suspension.OEM Steering box.All four OEM Ball Joints.New Germany KING PIN & LINK PIN SETS EXTERIOR: New Stainless steel side and Running board mouldings.OEM Sekurit glass with VW's logos. Front windshield has different logo so maybe replaced at some point of his life. All new rubbers,felts and scrapers. OEM Hella headlights with VW lenses. OEM Hella taillights. Front & Rear bumpers are good condition, no bent and dent. New wiper blades, chrome antenna, engine lid handle, OEM Wolsburg hood crest. Five OEM wheels completely sandblasted,primed and painted inside and out. Four new "Nankang" radial tires 165R15 with new valve stems. Five new VW logo hub caps. INTERIOR: Front/back seats and door panels re-upholstered in grey leather/velour 3 years ago, they are very nice. Gray carpet looks very good. OEM extra clean white sun visors. New headliner. OEM AM radio Sapphire 1 Bendix, 6 volt(working). Two front seat belt and one rear. OEM steering wheel with chrome horn ring(will need re-chrome) and button. New Germany emergency brake boot,OEM Shift boot. All knob, button and steering wheel are ivory. Serious DETAILED effort has been made to accurately and fairly describe this vehicle to you. I have tried to disclose all information about this car and even though every part of this Classic VW was inspected, rebuilt or replaced with original parts/pieces, please be aware that original (1960) 50 year old mechanical parts/pieces used for this restoration are subject to fail. It is not expected in this case however, it happens. I welcome, and recommend a buyers inspection. If you desire to have a buyers inspection at your cost, please do so PRIOR to the auction ending. Makes sense huh. This vehicle is sold as is, no warranty. So, once you read my feedback and feel confident to waive an inspection, know that I have well over 300 pictures of this car, from day one when I bought it. A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $1000 MUST be received via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end to secure the vehicle. Buyer must contact me within that 24 hours to discuss balance due payment and shipping terms. Balance Due required within 7 days of auction end.
