Perfect for cruising, it runs well, looks great, and there's just something special about sliding behind the wheel of your own Corvette; you know, the one you've wanted since you were a kid. This is it. The paint does a pretty good impersonation of Bryar Blue, giving this Stingray a subdued look that works especially well with the swoopy bodywork. A quick check of the tag will show you that it was originally orange, but this works so much better-as if Corvettes weren't already the biggest extroverts this side of a Ferrari Testarossa. It's not perfect, but it has a great overall look that shines up well on a Saturday afternoon and presents no worries when you're out on the road or parked on the street nearest your favorite sidewalk caf. The respray was incredibly thorough, as there's no trace of the original color, and while they were at it, they made sure that the fiberglass was straight, so the car looks handsome today. And if you're a fan of the early chrome bumper cars, this is the end of the line. Fortunately, all the brightwork is in very good shape, the badges and emblems are crisp, and the lenses are excellent. The original tan vinyl interior is long gone, replaced by a set of correct black seat covers with wonderful patina. Of course, that color change means things like the carpets, door panels, and even the center console were all replaced at the same time, and it all has a comfortable, inviting look. The lovely wood steering wheel is an aftermarket replacement piece that certainly looks right in the vintage Corvette, and the gauges are impressive with clear lenses and bright markings. At your right hand is the 4-speed shifter, along with controls for the factory A/C and AM/FM/cassette stereo. The black convertible top is in great condition, but then again, if you're using your new Corvette properly, you'll probably never need it. Rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago, the 350 cubic inch V8 barks to life easy and runs superbly, with that characteristic Chevy soundtrack. They made a good effort to get it to look correct, with Chevy Orange paint and no deviations from stock during the rebuild, save for a chrome open-element air cleaner and a new chrome alternator. Even the original ram's horn exhaust manifolds are in place, which improves sealing and controls heat soak into the interior, and they dump into a brand new stock-style dual exhaust system with just the right sound. While they were at it, they also replaced the clutch, the fuel tank, the power steering pump, and rebuilt the brakes, so this is a turn-key Corvette, not a project. It's quite clean underneath, too, with no rust or stress cracks, and there's no undercoating to hide behind. It's clean! Classic Rallys were standard equipment and they now carry 245/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fun and affordable, this is the Corvette you've been waiting for.
