Vehicle Detail
I am the 2nd owner of this awesome condition Honda CT Trail 70. I was driving through remote western Indiana and saw this for sale in a driveway. As it turns out the original owner bought this for his grandson and his daughter refused to let her son ride it. ; -) The original owner was a motorcycle collector and shared his barn with over 50 motorcycles pre1940. He had used this Trail 70 for his personal use since 1993, mostly in campgrounds as he traveled to weekend antique motorcycle shows nationally. The pictures support the story of a well kept Trail 70 by a perfectionist collector. I have added 200 miles to this CT70 over the last 24 months. I recently has a through inspection and tune-up by Rick Case Honda in Weston, FL. I instructed them to replace any worn items; ie fuel lines, filter, oil, air filter, bushings, tires, etc. Basically an open check-book. They were very impressed with this unit and only recommended adjustments, tune, fluid changes, air filter and new tubes for the original tires. Then blessed her as good to go. I have a clean title and all the original Honda books from Ehlerding MotorSports, Inc. 5525 U.S. 30 East, Ft Wayne, In 46803. 4 manuals in the folder from Ehlerding all in perfect unused condition. Since I purchased this CT70 24 months ago, I have added only 210 miles, all street used. It is 100% original parts with the patina from 20 years of care use and maintenance. the pictures tell the story. The only issue other than the fading of the front plastic fender and the flat black parts (kick stand, shifter, break pedal, etc.) have lost some of the flat black paint down to the metal- easy to remove and repaint. There are pin head size small paint chips one side of the red headlamp bucket and one side of the white front wheel. The original owner said he had it on a ramp on the rear of the RV trailer and the cover blew off while traveling and small chips occurred from road debris until he stopped and covered the Honda. I took it for a touch-up quote at a local body shop and they could touch-up the chips for $100 but recommended to leave everything original including the chips as most collectors want original untouched condition. The paint shop said most buyers want to see the original and decide if they want to modify such an original example. Let me know if I can answer any specific questions.
