1971 Ford Bronco SPORT – NO RESERVE – Dana 44 / PS Straight Body and 99% Rust Free!!! ***Relisted secondary to non-paying winning bidder. Up for sale we have a very clean 71 Early Ford Bronco SPORT– all original sheet metal that lines up beautifully. This is an original Sport with chrome grill, stainless window trim and body trim on the sides. This bronco has a V8, power steering, Dana 44 front axle, Ford 9” rear, 4WD, convertible (removable hardtop) and is a vintage collector truck. It runs great with good power and is 99% rust free. We came across this truck from the second owner and it shows excellent long term care. Bronco is an original California truck!!! We’ve included large pictures so out of state buyer will know what they are bidding on. We are located 30 minutes from Long Beach Harbor and welcome international bidding!! DRIVETRAIN: stock V8 block upgraded with mild cam, HOOKER headers, Edelbrock intake, carburetor and air cleaner. This truck sounds quick and mean with dual flowmaster exhaust out the back. The engine runs strong and smooth, starting easily with manual choke cold. New fuel pump and water pump. 4x4 engages smoothly and the HURST 3 speed manual on the floor is smooth. Truck has a newer clutch set so NO chatter. Power steering works like it should and the bronco tracks straight down the road though it does have a little bump steer at higher speeds. Brakes are manual and stop very solid – nice and straight. Emergency brake works as it should. This bronco has two tanks and runs great off either. Nice Smittybuilt rear bumper with 3” receiver. In 2007 the bronco received a considerable amount of work (well over $3k – have receipts) including, plugs/wires/fuel cleaning/dist cap/rotor/points/air cleaner, Interstate battery, brand new clutch set (with re-surfaced flywheel), new stainless brake lines/hardlines throughout, lift with Rancho 5000 shocks (2 per wheel) and new axle seals. The paint is nice and clean though does present with a few nicks and chips throughout. There are a few places where some paint has worn/chipped off – primarily on the tailgate and doorjams from use over the years. (see pics) The body is completely straight with no signs of body filler, NO dents and nicely lined up doors. The entire underside of the bronco has protective undercoating which looks original? Part of the Sport package? Floor pans are all original. NO RUST through the floorpans, kick panels, inner fenderwells, striker and hinge posts or throughout the body tub (see pics). The rocker panel covers were removed and there is one rust spot on the truck around the driver rocker about the size of a quarter (see pics - the black spots are caulking). Also on the passenger engine bay area there is some initial signs of surface rust but no cancer. There are a few small drilled holes in the tailgate where screws were previously placed probably for a bimini top (which we do not have). There are a couple drilled holes in the upper windshield for additional lights at one time. This is a very nice driver quality car that will get compliments all day. Frame is clean and rust free. Centerline wheels are nice but have some light pitting – would benefit from a professional polishing if you want perfection. Tires are brand new 33/12.5/15. All trim, lenses and emblems are intact and ALL exterior lights / brake / turn signals work like they should. INTERIOR: Clean good smelling interior with all brand new black interior. Black carpet kit is older but in excellent condition. One spot of wear under the driver's floormat. New door rubber. Dash is clean with a Grant steering wheel. All dash electrical and gauges work as they should except the temperature gauge. Charges nice and pumps great oil pressure. Fuel gauge works fine for either tank. Has an old Alpine stereo system that works but not very well. Older set up that would need replacing if you are a stereo guy. Dash controls are stiff. Heater core is hooked up but the cable in disconnected. Fan works nicely. All window/door mechanisms working as they should. Ignition key locks the doors.
