For your consideration is this 1949 GMC 1/2 ton step-side deluxe cab pickup. This is a body off frame modernizing restoration that includes sandblasting and repainting frame. A Heidts Superide II IFS front suspension was professionally installed with a mustang II power rack and pinion system. Brakes are disk front/drum rear. Drive train consists of a lightly modified SB 350 with an Edelbrock intake/carb. and stainless headers, a muncie 4-spd trans, and a John's custom 9" ford rear end and springs. All unneccessary holes in the firewall and inner fenders were welded closed and ground down before repainting. Inside the cab is a newly upholstered custom bench seat and new headliner and door panels. All door seals and window gaskets have been replaced. The instrument panel was fitted with Brothers custom billet gauges and an Ididit tilt steering column and wheel. All bed wood and rails were replaced and a gas filler was added to fill the new chassis-mounted under bed fuel tank. It has new Uniroyal Tiger Paws and chrome slotted wheels. This truck runs and drives very well. The truck is currently being driven without stock bumpers. New bumper brackets were purchased and mounted as shown in the pictures...also needed is a windshield wiper motor. The drivetrain has approximately 1000 miles since the restomod...the truck can be highway driven comfortably. The owner has over $28,000 in parts and partial labor in this truck.
