Vehicle Detail
Original unmolested gas/service station shop truck from Pelham, NH. 4 digit phone # still on the door. Correct date coded matching # 216 motor, carb, distributor, starter, and generator. The truck was built in Jan, 1940 at the Tarrytown, NY assembly plant. The casting date on the block is Dec 7, 1939(see pictures). Unlike many so called shop trucks this one wasn't fabricated to look like one. It's the real deal. The starter and Carter 420S carb have been rebuilt. That is as far as I have got and have not attempted to start it. The motor turns over with the battery(not included). Pre war chevy art deco pickups are getting harder to find, especially the 1940, a one year only model. My plan was to get the truck in sound mechanical condition and drive it as is, but other issues have put that on hold and I am reluctantly selling the truck. It hasn't been on the road in years and expect to do a complete restoration. Some of the issues of many would be, replacing the wiring, rust repair, most of the glass replaced, windshield frame replacement(a good used frame and gasket is included, brake system and more. The inner top windshield wiper panel was discarded because of the typical mice damage these trucks incur at that location. The rims and tires will be replaced with rollers that hold air. This old pickup has patina that only Mother Nature could give it. You won't find another. Regardless as to what is stated above there is NO TITLE. NH is a not title state for vehicles that are 15 years or older. ONLY a bill of sale will be provided. Payment is due within 72 hours via bank wire, or cash, there is no deposit. No other forms of payment are accepted. Read payment information for details. On Mar-25-13 at 08:39:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I added more pictures. Please don't continue to email me to ask if I will entertain a buy it now. The truck has hit the reserve so the high bidder will own it. Good luck.On Mar-26-13 at 02:52:07 PDT, seller added the following information: To clear up some confusion the milk crates, Delco and Exide battery service caddys are not included in the sale. My son took those pictures and should have removed those personal items beforehand.
