Vehicle Detail
This is a very original, rare, and solid 1954 Chevy Bel Air two door sedan. It only has 85596 actual miles on it. Very solid car with no signs of rust repair that I can see. Came out of California where snow and salt are not an issue. All original body panels, floor pans, rockers, body mounts, fenders, etc. The underside of this car has not been painted or undercoated to hide any rust or repairs. One repaint years ago in the factory 2 tone sky blue and white that it came with from the factory. Still in very nice shape with just some very minor road chip touch-ups. Still shines up nicely. There are 2 very small dents and one a little larger one on top of the right quarter panel near the tail light. There is a closeup picture listed showing all 3 of them. Looks like something fell off of a shelf and landed on it. Not worth repairing in my mind. Please look close at the picture. Interior appears to be all original except for replacement seat covers and the carpet. It shows extremely well. All of the gauges work as they should, including the radio and wind-up clock. Surprisingly the radio still sounds crystal clear. Factory tinted glass is all in excellent condition as is the weatherstripping. Suspension is all stock and very tight. Brakes are all stock and very good. No power brakes or steering. Wide white radial tires and exhaust are new. The exhaust was made into a dual exhaust system by welding a "Y" pipe in place after the down pipe but before the 2 mufflers. Very nicely done and it has a very nice sound to it. Chrome and stainless trim is all very nice. The 235 6 cylinder engine and powerglide transmission have both been rebuilt. Car runs out great. I also have matching the fender skirts that are included with it. Other than being lowered, the car is actually very original. The car was lowered by using lowering blocks on the back and what appears to be lowering springs on the front. Both could be removed to bring it back up to stock height if desired. All in all, this is one of the nicest rust free 54 Chevys that I have come across for many years, and it has one of the most desirable color combos to boot. Even the stainless steel hubcaps have been polished out to a high gloss finish.
