Up for auction is a 1973 Honda CB500 with a 550cc engine swap (done by previous owner). 28,766 miles on the frame. VIN#CB5002030612. The bike has new carb kit & rebuilt by Laguna Motorsports in Elk Grove, CA. With a fully tendered battery, it starts immediately (on first attempt) and runs well. Original tank which appears repainted by previous owner; has some minor rust, chips and superficial scratches on it. No major dents, however. Original exhaust with rust and some dust present on surfaces. Transmission engine gears were replaced; shifts into gear without issues (an improvement from old gears). Battery is fairly new, although currently connected to a battery tender. Original side covers are intact without damage. Front and rear brakes work without any issues. Three of the four pod filters are intact. Stock gauges in working condition. All electrical components work as it should including signal lights (makes a beeping noise when turned on). Both the electric and kick starter works. Padded café-style seat made by Benjie’s Café Racers, spray painted glossy black. Brand new set of Bridgestone S11 Spitfire Sport Touring tires (120/90H-18 front; 100/90H-19 rear). Emgo Superbike handlebars with (brand new) GT style grips from Nostalgia Speed & Cycle. This motorcycle has been sitting in the garage for a few months since the carbs and transmission were rebuilt, and certainly may require a tune-up, after all it is a 40-year-old machine. Overall, this is an excellent project bike in running condition that will ensure some fun and attention. There is no reserve on this bike. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours after auction ends and full payment is due within 72 hours. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping arrangements.
