Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1983 Jeep Scrambler. This Jeep has never been restored to the best of my knowledge. It is in really good condition for a Scrambler this old. There is only one place on the Jeep that I see that has significant rust, the drivers side floor panel and the small area adjacent to it on the bottom of the exterior body on that side. It starts and runs well, I have driven it around to the store and back, I just got it tagged last year. It could use some engine work, but I have installed a new water pump, new carb, new fuel pump, plugs, and plug wires. When I have done anything at all, I have tried to do it as original as I could so that if someone wanted to keep this scrambler stock they could. The only thing I have done that is not stock is the 3 inch springs lift kit. I also bought new wheels, but I have the old white wheels that look similar to the present wheels, along with the center caps. It starts, runs, stays cool, brakes work, and the 4 wheel drive works. All lights work properly. The only gauge that is off a bit is the gas gauge. All others work well, and the oil pressure stays between 20 and 40. Speedometer will need a new cable. Brake light on the dash cluster stays lit, but the parking brake does work, although its a bit weak. The engine needs to be cleaned well, there is some old oil buildup from a leaky valve cover that I replaced. The bed has absolutely no rust through. Underneath, other than the aforementioned spots, there is no rust through at all. If you wipe off the dust and dirt in the engine compartment, the pain is bright and shiny underneath. In fact, if you were to clean this Jeep up really well and tune it up a bit, it could possibly be a daily driver easily. Clutch is new as well. I have purchased the doors and the top with the intent to have them painted to match the body when I have the Jeep painted. I also have an AC unit for under the dash with new knobs, and some of the parts for the AC. The top needs to be fastened down on the forward portion of it to the windshield. I just didn't have the right screws for it so I have never done it. New turn signals (both on the fenders and those on the grille), new fender flares, tires are new (spare is not), new plastic bumper cover on the front (where it says "Jeep"). The jeep has a dent in the hood. I have taken off the aluminum trim panel on the drivers side, but I have two more straight originals and a good supply of T-bolts to reapply if you want. Needs new interior carpet and new door panels for the doors that I purchased. All in all, this is a great start for someone if they want to bring a scrambler back to original or if you want to customize it a bit. I have some other parts, like some Scrambler emblems and a CJ-8 emblem that I have not added. The body is just too nice to cut up. Why am I selling it? I don't really want to, but with a family I don't have the time to finish it out the way I want in the near future. I also think this is too nice to let it sit and become a rust bucket. If you have any other questions, just ask. Title is good. I reserve the right to end the auction early should the vehicle sell locally. Vehicle is sold as is, no warranty. Just wanted to add some things, The 3 new pics I put up display a better look a the interior and also shows the lower body trim pieces I have that are hard to find for these Scramblers. These are straight and excellent. In addition, I have told some that have emailed me but I will say it here, I have a set of YJ half doors that I am throwing into this deal as well. They are straight, have the interior panels which are gray, and they are white but will need paint of course. Also a set of soft safari doors. I am also throwing in two CJ dashes, one has all the gauges, the other has just the speedometer (which I have taken out since it was a nice one, but it goes with the deal), one still has the paper glove box shell, both have glove boxes and some of the dash indicators. I have a new set of fresh never been used dash lit instrument markers. New knobs for the AC unit (the AC is not installed on the jeep, I just have the under dash assembly and some of the parts). Another heater assembly and new heater core. And I also have another dash pad, I believe it may be little nicer than the current one. BTW, the dent in the hood pops out with your hand. Just needs to be worked a bit. Jeep starts on the second turn of the key, even after sitting. Blows a little carbon, but in the right hands and with some time I think this would be fine. I have a reproduction owner's manual too. If there's anything I find when the Jeep is picked up that goes with it or that I think would help with either the restoration, I will throw it in too. You could sell some of the items yourself later to recoup the cost. The Jeep was sold new here in Tulsa, still has the old Journeycake Jeep emblems (which is a sore spot with me lol, I really wanted a Scrambler from Journeycake back in the day, but oh well....) Good luck and happy bidding!
