Vehicle Detail
Beautiful Garnet Red 1972 SS Nova California Car with a 350 cu in Motor and Automatic Transmission, Black Interior, Bucket Seats and a Wood Steering Wheel We purchased this car out of North Carolina about three years ago. The car was in good shape with almost new paint. The car originally came from California and was built in the Van Nuys GM factory in California This Nova was originally shipped with Garnet Red (76) paint on the exterior and a Black (751 A 52) std interior which included a bench seat and auto shift lever on the column and a 305 cu in engine. When I purchased the car it had new chrome, a new grille, new 7” rally wheels, caps and beauty rings sitting on a new set of BF Goodrich TA radial tires. It was cloned to an SS and the work the previous owner performed on the car is good. Since we have had the car, we have installed new carpets, correct bucket seats, had the seats recovered with the original type 1972 black deluxe covers, added new deluxe door panels, installed a new headliner, installed a new great sounding CD player stereo, wheel well molding, new door rail molding and a beautiful three spoke wood steering wheel. The motor in the car is not the original motor, but during the restoration the car was fitted with a 350 cu in motor and 350 turbo transmission. The 350 motor was stock when I got it and I did the following to the motor, installed a mild hi lift cam with new hydraulic lifters, new Elderbrock 700 carb, Elderbrock hi rise intake and a new MSD HEI distributor and control box. The heads are 461 double hump fuel heads with 1.092 and 1.50 valves. The car is also equipped with a set of headers, new Flow Master Mufflers, new aluminized tail pipes and a new set of MSD wires. The motor sounds good and has a nice wack, but is very street-able. This car runs, drives and handles great, the cooling system keeps the car very cool with no problems of overheating and the oil pressure is excellent, there are no leaks in the motor and it does not smoke. The car is sitting on a new set of original SS 15” rally wheels, new caps and new beauty rings with new TA radials tires 60/15 series. There are new shocks all the way around, the original 3:36 12 bolt GM rear-end was refurbished and runs smooth and quite. The Paint on the car is good and is a base coat / clear coat system. There are a few minor road chips and slight imperfections but from 5 feet away, it looks great. The body is straight and all body lines align very well. There is good glass all the way around and all new weather stripping everywhere. I believe the body parts are original and they are very straight. The jams on the car look good, but not as good as the exterior paint. It also appears the floor-pans are in excellent shape and they are the original pans. There are no visible signs of rust anywhere on the exterior or underside of the car. The interior is better than nice. There is a set of working Sun Pro Gauges at the lower bottom of the dash. This is not a true SS 350 Nova but it was cloned well, only you will know the difference.
