Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false This is an original 11,532 mile, matching number original paint bike in very nice condition. It was brought back to life after a long sleep. It had been sitting in a garage for a long time so there was rust on many of the chromed parts and the piston rings were frozen. To get it back to life, the gentleman I purchased it from replaced the following major parts, and many, many minor parts in 2009 (all receipts available): Wheels:New German Chrome Wheel rims, stainless spokes (I have 4 spare spokes) Metzler tires and tubes, new front brakes (rear are fine, but I am including a new pair of brake pads should a new owner need them) Engine, Transmission, and rear: New first over pistons/rings, gaskets and rear seal, points, condensor (all electrics gone through and work properly) battery, headers, mufflers, carb sleeves, carb kits including floats and needles, petcock, braided fuel lines, shaft boots, clutch plate, spline lube etc. Body and Frame: New Tank Badges, Denfeld solo and passenger saddle seats. Tail light lens, European low bars, Head light lens and chrome ring, steering cap cover, Hella Turn Signals and new switch, Rear fender rack, center stand springs, (Side stand is included but not installed) Dual headlight mirrors with replacement glass, tire pump etc. I will include the period tool kit that is mostly correct. In Nov 2011 I drove the bike to Sturgis, MS from Ruston, LA to have the world renowned Craig “Vech” Vechorik look the bike over, tune it up and replace what he felt needed to be replace. I spent $1,840 on rebuilding heads, complete stainless steel bolt/screw kit, solid state magneto timing indicator, new clutch cable, bushings, rebuilt carb, and many other things. He then drove it 100 miles and gave the bike a clean bill of health. I have all the receipts for everything described above. The Clymer service manual, and the very expensive Barrington Motor Works /2 Restoration manual, as well as 3 years of Vintage BMW Bulletin/Motorrader will be included. The result is an original paint bike that starts easily and runs very well. It is very quiet and smooth and in fact is much more comfortable to ride than modern bikes with bench seats. If you’ve never ridden one you’re in for a treat! The paint has wear and is not perfect, but if you like the vintage original look, this is a very nice example. I have a 15month old son now and don’t have the time to enjoy this bike like I should. I regretfully offer this beautiful bike to bidding. Email me with serious questions, I do not supply shipping quotes, and all buyers are encouraged to see it in person or to send your agent to preview it for you. There is video on ebay of me and my nephew riding the bike: For some reason ebay won't let me cut and paste the link in the description, but it is in the listing title if you you want to cut and paste it to your browser, or email me I'll send it over. On Mar-15-13 at 04:39:03 PDT, seller added the following information: There is also a second video of me starting the bike from cold start, Just look at my other videos on youtube
