Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an early 1963 Studebaker Avanti R1 Vin number 63R1157. This car had a complete restoration ( Body off the frame every mechanical(chassis) part disassembled replaced or restored, everything but the interior, and was completed in 2001. The woman I bought it from in 2003 said she had over 40k. invested and that's without a restoring the interior, which she thought didn't need it. I stored the car in a climate controlled garage until late 2010. I now have the car at my friends shop on a storage lift safe and sound. The condition of the car is amazing, almost brand new looking, with only a couple of imperfections on the exterior at all. The underside looks almost brand new too. The vent window trim has some pitting......All other chrome is beautiful. The bumpers were re-chromed. The interior is apart right now, and I am offering the car for sale at a reduced price, the way it is, or I could put it back together and ask for more, you decide. I have a brand new reproduction fiberglass headliner and some other nos parts for the interior. I think it would take me about 2 days to get it back together, including the new headliner and recovering some small interior panels. The car just needs the headliner door panels and some trim to be reinstalled, as the interior is not completely apart. I have all the parts organized in separate ziploc bags. The car has been sitting and should have all the fluids changed, so keep that in mind, as well as a choke issue. All minor stuff. I will include the correct size (brand new) battery for my asking price. There is NO WAY you can find one of these, this nice, for the price I'm willing to take. I think you could put max 2000 dollars into this if you can't do the interior and fluids yourself. You would have to spend at least 12k. for decent car and would still have to do a complete body off restoration to get one this nice. The car comes with coker whitewalls that have less than 100 miles on them. The spare wheel also has the matching coker tire. The wheels were painted body color as well as the steering column. Please email or call Louie at 201 315 5457 if you have specific questions about the condition of the car. I would rather talk to someone on the phone before they bid, so I can described the car in detail. Thanks for looking
