Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1967 GT Fastback Mustang. I have owned this car since 2004 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I purchased the car as a running and driving car that was very original and complete. To me, the most important part of the car was the condition of the body. It was 100% rust free and very straight. All of the sheetmetal is factory ford, including all of the floors and rear quarter panels. The previous owner had owned the car for a very long time and had it stored indoors. He claims the miles were original which at the time were 32,000. I have put 9,000 miles on the car since I have owned it. He was also confident it was an original GT. I have no original documentation to prove that, but I feel its a real GT as well. I drove the car for a year and then decided to do a restoration. The paint and body was professionally done using only the best materials and allowing dry time between stages, the paint job took 6 months to complete. The GT stripes are painted on (not stickers). The paint is now over 6 years old and looks like the day it was done. All of the chrome plating was rechromed, the original stainless trim was professionally polished to a mirror finish and all of the aluminum anodized trim was replaced with new parts. The glass in the car is all original and very nice. The interior is absolutely beautiful in its contrasting Lite Ivy with dark ivy accents, this color combination is factory original to this car and is standard interior, not deluxe. While I had the gauges out detailing the red needles and replacing the lenses I added the deluxe dash trim and console to dress it up. The headliner and visors are original and perfect. The dash pad is also perfect with no cracks. The door panels, seat covers / seat foam, carpet and fold down carpet are brand new. The floors were dynomated before the carpet went down for that solid and quiet feel. I installed a stock appearing FM digital stereo with c/d changer capabilities and IPod hookups. It also has four high quality speakers for a nice sound system. Everything on this car works perfect including; wipers, all lights inside and out, turn signal cancels, gauges and speedo. Options on this car include; A Code 289 4-barrel V-8 engine, 4-speed transmission, 9" differential with 3.55:1 ratio (perfect for driving), power steering, power disc brakes (front disc/rear drum), GT Dual exhaust with stainless tips and GT rear valance, GT Fog Lights with original dash switch, blinker hood and A/C that blows ice cold with a great heater. I added the following; 17" Coys wheels with Z- rated tires, flowmaster mufflers for a killer sound, K-Code engine dress up kit, aluminum intake manifold, K-Code high perf exhaust manifolds, GT-40 heads and large front sway bar. The engine compartment is very highly details with every nut and bolt reconditioned or new. The engine is fully rebuilt with forged pistons (.30 over), a street cam for a nice idle but great power curve, the high flow GT-40 heads, all new valve train, internals and fully balanced. It runs absolutely perfect and has great power. Im sure is over 350 h.p. and has the original 4100 carburator built and restored by Pony Carbs. I spared no expense on the engine. Its also detailed with concourse quality FoMoCo hoses, battery cables, clamps, decals etc. The undercarriage is also very nice, but not over restored. All of the suspension is new or rebuilt including; springs (front and back), all ball joints, tie rod ends, all power steering components, bushings etc. It is details to a point where everything looks sanitary, but a water puddle wont ruin your day!! The door tag has never been removed or replaced and is all correct and in compliance with what the car is.... The transmission code is covered by the rivet that holds it to the door, It appears it was that way from the factory. Since the restoration I have driven the car over 6,000 miles on various trips. Its very reliable and dependable. Just last fall we drove it on a 1500 mile trip through all of the Colorado mountains without ever turning a screw. One of the largest shows we have ever driven it to is the Goodguys Show in Loveland, Colorado, it was selected by the judges out of many mustangs for the "Mighty Mustang" award. At the "Crem de La Chrome" show, which is Colorado's premier four day indoor show, it won "GOLD" for post war restored sports. It pretty much gets awards at every show it goes to. With the upgrades I have done and all of the great options, this car is a real pleasure to drive. Please call me if you have questions 303 475-4544. I have a clean Colorado title in hand.,
