Vehicle Detail

1939 Dodge D 11 Luxury Liner Sedan. It is a 25th anniversary model. It has an original owners manual. It has 218 flathead six with a 3 speed transmission with column shift. It runs shifts and stops fine. It drives like a 75 year old Dodge, which is to say not super but it was state of the art for its time. Engine runs very smoothly and quiet. It has 80,000 miles showing on the odometer, I would assume that it has rolled over but I have no info on it. It could be 380,000 for all I know. I doubt it but it could be. I took this car in on trade and have had it for about 6 mos. I have put a couple hundred miles on it just to make sure it works. It is a very solid old car. all the gauges work. All the lights work except the rear courtesy light. The wipers work. It has a heater that looks to be not original but I don't know what it should have. It does work and has a fan.It is still a 6 volt electrical system. The horn wasn't working so I put on an oogah horn that i had but I do have the original trumpet horn. It does need tires. They are 6.00-16. It does need the rubber replaced, though the glass is good. it does need a tailpipe but it has a good muffler so its quiet. The interior is pretty nice, maybe not show car level but probably better than daily driver level. The dash has been stripped at some point because i think it would have had a woodgrain look originally. I am no expert on these cars. The paint reminds me of the laquer from the 1970's. It is very thin but when they did it they did trim out the doors, under the hood, etc. it looks to have been at least partly black originally. The frame and floors look to be in great shape. I would say it has spent many years in storage or had someone to care for it. It is oily and greasy underneath so I don't believe it has ever been rebuilt. The chrome would all have to be redone for a show car but kind of matches the overall condition of the exterior if that makes sense. This really would make a great start for a restoration if you love this car or it has meaning for you. People really get a kick out of this car. I usually don't care much about 4-doors but the suicide doors with the huge back seat area is really neat. My 70 year old mother drove this car around the mile and was grinning ear to ear. I think with paint and chrome along with a new set of wide whites this car could be really nice, it could also be enjoyed just as is. It does have a clear Indiana title. These are just some things i thought of, if you have questions please ask. I do have an enclosed car hauler so we could probably work out delivery for an extra. Look at the pictures. Thanks very much for looking. On Mar-12-13 at 02:48:12 PDT, seller added the following information: This car does have the jack, jack handle, tire tool/lug wrench, And the engine starting crank in the trunk. These items are included with the car. I will not sell these items seperate from the car. Thank you.
