1963 Ford Shortbed fleetside pickup truck Up for auction is a 1963 Ford shortbed fleet side pickup truck originally from Texas. This has a 350 Small Block Chevy engine with a 350 turbo automatic transmission. Has a new drop transmission mount that bolts to the inside of the frame. A few years back, I pulled this motor and transmission out of running and driving 1972 Chevy pickup truck that I parted out. I put on a 10-bolt Chevy rear-end single-pull and an S-10 front suspension that is welded into the truck frame. I have many years’ experience installing suspensions on street rods, and I used a frame gauge to measure the wheel base, and measured the frame cross-ways, and the wheel base is correct. The welding needs to be completed on the front suspension clip. The bottom of the front radiator support has some rust and needs some patches welded in it, but it is very fixable. Will also need some brackets made for the front radiator support where it bolts to the frame. Power steering, disc brakes, new motor mounts. Has 4 matching wheels from a 1953 Chevy car (one wheel is red). This has a good clear Michigan title. The cab is in good shape. There is some rust in the front driver’s floorboard pan… it looks to me like someone put a patch over it at one time. There is also a little rust in the passenger side floorboard pan. These would be easy to patch. On the driver’s side of the roof, by the gutter over the door, there are some small rust holes that need to be welded up (it looks like some wet leaves must have set on top of the roof at one time, drawing moisture, and made some small holes). Both doors are in excellent shape, there is no rust on the bottoms. The box is from Michigan and has some dents in the sides, and rust holes in the floor. The box needs some work. The tailgate has a big dent on the bottom, but has no rust. All the glass and the windshield is out of the cab, but I have all the glass (except the back window glass). I am going to try and get the back window glass, but cannot make any promises. So the auction includes all the glass and windshield (except for the back window glass). I have almost all the inside parts and the front bench seat for this truck. The aluminum grille is in good shape. This does not have any bumpers, I had planned on putting a roll pan on the front and back. You can contact me with any questions at Phone 269-624-2233 and ask for Dave (serious buyers only please!) I am happy to keep the truck here for a period of time if buyer is not able to pick it up right away.
