1972 Lotus Europa Twin Cam. 37,275 original miles with big value engine and dual carburetors. It also has headers and the desirable European (non-emissions) intake manifold and K&N air filters. Runs great, the car is seriously quick, feels like a race car and sounds great. Exhaust system is completely new. No smoke or leaks and it runs and drives well. The later twin cam cars had better visibility in the rear and more foot room around the pedals. I'm 6'1" and fit fine in the car. It rides very comfortable with upgraded gas shocks and handles fantastic with its mid-engine design. 4 speed manual transmission shifts smooth, though the shift linkage takes some getting used to. New 185 series tires all around on original Lotus alloy wheels. A nice driver, but there are a number of areas that need attention, the car is 40 years old. The paint, while shiny and presentable from 10 feet away, has a number of cracks and bubbles from less than ideal preparation when it was repainted in it's original color a few years ago. It will need a complete respray if you want it show quality. There is no sign of any accident repairs and the frame is solid with just some surface rust in a few places. Most everything electrical works, the lights, power windows, instruments, horn, heat, etc. sometimes the turn signals don't work though. Brakes pull to the right, so they will need attention. Dual gas tanks, one is fine, the other (passenger side) has rust on it from water pooling on top when it rained (common problem with these), so I bypassed that tank. Gas gauge works. The drivers door will need attention, it sags a bit and feels loose, but opens/closes ok. Interior is probably the worst part, the seats have some rips, dash pad warped, needs new carpets, etc. There is also a crack in the windshield. Mostly cosmetic things that can be fixed while you drive it. Call Tom 908-294-2863 with any questions. I am available to show the car to any local bidders.
