Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to non-paying bidder. This is a great project or parts car - 63 Jaguar Mark X. I bought it from a long time owner who kept it in a barn and drove it around the farm occasionally. The body is solid and the car runs and lot drives, but it was last registered and road-driven in 2007. The car starts right up and appears to have a strong motor. I replaced one carb float and cleaned the carbs. Fuel tanks are clean and electric fuel pump works. Engine has the original triple carb setup and gold 9:1 head. Radiator holds pressure and motor stays cool. Brakes work - barely, and the power steering works fine. Tires are fair but old. Trans feels good but leaks some fluid when parked for extended periods. Engine idles high because of a vacuum leak in the enrichment solenoid - the strap that holds it to the manifold fell off and the solenoid needs to be re-secured. Interior is fair - original leather is stiff and torn on drivers side. Still smells like old jag leather. Odometer shows 84k miles, temp gauge works intermittently, amp gauge works, oil pressure gauge reads 30 psi warm. Some of the electrics don't work - heater fans, fuel gauge, tank switches, etc. Interior lights and headlights work. AC unit is complete with compressor, vents and controls but is untested. The passenger front door skin is rusted through, and that's the worst spot on the body. I have a spare door that is included with the car, and the rear bumper is included. The fourth hubcap, spare tire and trim ring is in the trunk. There are no tools but the jack is included. I rarely say this, but the car is in better condition than it looks at first glance! Floor pans are solid with a small hole below the accelerator pedal, and a little rust on the passenger front floor. Jack points, trunk, rear floor seem very clean. Quarters have some bubbling at the edges. There's no obvious bondo or repairs aside from some paintwork on the right fender.
