Short Motor Company .comEstablished 1990 100% Positive eBay Feedback 100% of the time since 1999 Please do not click the "Buy It Now" button if . . . . . . your wife/husband isn't going to let you buy it. . . . you have zero (0) feedback. If this is you, please call or email me first. . . . you don't have the money and haven't been pre-approved for financing on this vehicle through your bank/credit union. I do not finance, but I can work with any lender of your choice. . . . you don't have the ability or refuse to pay for this vehicle within a reasonable amount of time. This listing specifies 3 business days and that is my preference, but if you need a coupIe of extra days that is acceptable. . . . you're not comfortable with buying a vehicle through the internet. Food for thought: You think your local used car dealership would have 100% positive ratings on each and every vehicle sold all over the world if their buyers had the ability to leave them feedback on an open forum (even after driving the vehicle a couple thousand miles)? There is a difference! . . . you buy this vehicle and expect me to pick you up at the airport on a Sunday morning - unless you catch an early flight and want to come to worship with my family and I - it starts at 10am and that's where I'll be. Thanks! Services Available: - FREE Airport Pick-Up- Fully Insured Nationwide Door-To-Door Shipping ATTENTION:PLEASE BE PATIENT WHILE ALL THE PICTURES LOAD. This is a high quality CMC replica with many custom touches to make it stand out even more. I hold the clean and clear title, and it is titled as a 1956 Porsche. The car drives great and is an absolute blast to drive. I just had it thoroughly serviced so it's ready for Spring. I've put about 200 thoroughly enjoyable miles on this car. For more specific information, read on. HISTORY:I bought this car from the owner of a Chevrolet dealership near Houston, TX. He is from Finland and bought this car from a Finnish friend of his. During his 3 or so years of ownership, he only put about 50 miles on it and then put it on storage. I'm told the car was built in 2003. Only 2,428 miles have been put on the car since then. MECHANICAL:The chassis is of the 1966-1979 vintage, and is either from a Bug or Ghia. The engine is a 1600cc with aftermarket case, dual relief heads, 10mm oil passages, dual Solex carbs, and an Engle W-110 camshaft. The mechanic guesses the power output to be close to 100HP at this point. Originally this was a 40HP engine and as light as the car is even that would have been sufficient, so as you can imagine the car is very peppy. The braking system has also been upgraded to 4-wheel discs with cross-drilled rotors, so it stops even faster than it goes. When I got the car last fall, I took it straight to a local VW aircooled guru to have it checked over and serviced. Here is what he did: flushed fuel system, changed fuel filter, replaced battery, changed oil, cleaned and adjusted the carburetors, replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires, replaced distributor cap and rotor, adjusted the timing, replaced a fuel line, and replaced two of the VDO gauges and sending units. The engine runs excellent, starts easily, and doesn't smoke. I've had it sitting in my warehouse and it hasn't leaked a drop of any fluids either. The best part is the sound of this thing! I've never heard an aircooled engine sound this good - it's deep and throaty, and not loud - just a wonderful exhaust note. INTERIOR:The inside looks great and has been professionally done in high quality leather which is in good shape. The edge of the driver's seat does show some slight wear. All the gauges work properly. The shifter is an aftermarket Empi unit. Headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, horn, windshield wipers, all work. There is also an added LED third brake light between the tail lights for better visibility. The custom chrome rollbar looks great. A few extra interior bits are included such as extra carpet and a set of seat belts. EXTERIOR:The body is a CMC kit which is one of the highest 356 Speedster kits ever made, and this one looks great. The paint is in good condition, but not perfect. There are a few small imperfections, rock chips, etc.. I would lean more toward calling it "driver quality" than "show quality", but as you can see it really looks quite good. The wheels are custom Centerlines which I'm told had to be special ordered when the car was built. Tires are 215/50/15 Kumho Ecsta that still look new. I just had them rotated and computer balanced, and also had the alignment checked (which was already dead on). I do not have a top or tonneau cover for it, but either of those can be purchased fairly cheaply if the buyer desires. OVERALL:As you can see, this is an absolutely stunningly beautiful car that just begs to be driven. During your ownership you may find little things that you want to tinker with, but that's part of the fun of owning one of these cars. It's very easy to work on and parts are plentiful. I've priced the car very fairly, especially considering what must have been spent to build it. I've probably missed something, so feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer. Our History: Short Motor Company was founded by my Dad, Leo Short, in 1990 after he was a Snap-On Tool dealer for 9 years. He was guided in starting his business by his uncle, John Short, who owned several new and used car dealerships throughout Texas over the course of more than 30 years in the business. I started working for my Dad at age 16, finished high school, and began my college career toward my Associates Degree in Automotive Marketing and Management from Northwood University in Cedar Hill, TX. I married my wonderful wife Rachel in 2007 and we welcomed a baby boy to our family in February 2011, and then a baby girl in December 2012. My Dad and I continue to work together: he sells vehicles strictly from his storefront just as he has done from the same location since 1989, while I have chosen to cater to the online community. Since 1989 our family business has been a member in good standing with the Fort Worth Independent Auto Dealers Association, the Texas Independent Auto Dealers Association, and the National Independent Auto Dealers Assocation. When I was 12 years old, my Grandpa gave me a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback that had been sitting in a field since the 1970's. It was my dream car, but once I started looking to buy parts for it and realized that wasn't going to happen with my small budget, I sold it for $1,300. By the time I graduated High School at age 17, I had bought and sold over 30 cars. For my High School yearbook, they made up a new "Most Likely To Be..." category for me - I was "Most Likely To Become President Of Ford Motor Company". When I joined eBay in 1999 I was buying and selling rare Hot Wheels toy cars. Now since 2006 I've been selling pre-owned cars and trucks full-time on eBay and specializing in diesels. Since day one, I've maintained 100% positive feedback with over 350 transactions. My Philosophy: To provide quality pre-owned vehicles with outstanding value and superior customer service. I realize that my customers have a lot of choices when purchasing a vehicle and my goal is to cater to you personally by providing a perfectly painless purchasing experience. I treat you with the same respect, honesty, and integrity that I would expect to receive. All of my vehicles are hand-picked, thoroughly inspected and fully serviced, and then inspected cosmetically and test driven by me before they're ever offered for sale. If you have a question about anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask - I'm readily available through email (bradyshort@gmail.com) or a phone call (817-988-2629). -Brady Short Finance I DO NOT OFFER FINANCING. However, if you choose to seek your own financing through a bank or credit union, I can work with them to finalize your purchase. But, if you are going to need financing, please make sure that you are approved by your lender for the vehicle you would like to bid on before bidding on it. A few suggestions for financing providers are shown below: Shipping - FREE PICK-UP AT ANY AIRPORT, BUS STATION, OR TRAIN STATION IN THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA -If you choose to fly into any airport in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field are the two main ones), I will deliver your vehicle (and paperwork) to the airport at any prearranged time (during normal business hours, unless other arrangements are made ahead of time). I can also accommodate any buyers who prefer to ride the train or bus into the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well. - NATIONWIDE "TO YOUR DOOR" DELIVERY OF YOUR VEHICLE -I recommend Will Haul It, LLC (www.WillHaulIt.com) for all your vehicle transport services. For a shipping quote, you can either contact me or call Russell at Will Haul It directly at (321) 610-4798. The service is honest and personal, the price can't be beat, and the delivery time is extraordinary. Almost every vehicle shipped with Will Haul It only takes 7 days or less to get to its destination from the time the shipment is booked. - PERSONAL DELIVERY -If you choose to have me deliver your vehicle to you, I can do so personally for $1.75 per loaded mile within a 600 mile radius of ZIP code 76115, and can facilitate that within 3 business days under normal circumstances. BUYERS FROM ANY STATE OUTSIDE OF TEXAS: You will only be charged Vehicle Inventory Tax of .2365% (Sale Price x .002365) and a Documentary Fee of $50. You are responsible for paying sales tax in your own state of residence (if applicable). TO ALL BUYERS: Total amount of vehicle is to be paid within 3 business days after the auction ends. Acceptable payment methods are: Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Certified Loan Check, or Bank Wire Transfer. If I already have the title to the vehicle it will be given to you in person when you pick up the vehicle, or sent to you via FedEx if you choose to ship the vehicle. Winning bidder MUST contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to sell it to the next highest bidder, re-list the vehicle, or sell it elsewhere. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to eBay. If financing, make sure your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. If you are not sure about something, please ask. Do not assume anything not listed or pictured is included. Feel free to call me (817-988-2629) or email me (bradyshort@gmail.com) for any reason. I reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback or not enough feedback. If you have less than 2 feedbacks, please email me before bidding. All of my vehicles are thoroughly checked out by my mechanic before they are ever put on eBay and any maintenance needs are taken care of. Most of my customers are from out of state, so I take great care to make absolutely certain (to the best of my ability) that the vehicle is in excellent mechanical (and cosmetic) condition. Please understand these are used vehicles, and may have very minor imperfections that are not noted. I try very hard to describe each vehicle accurately; however, if you have a question about something specific that you feel is not addressed adequately in the description, please call or email me. Sometimes the vehicle may have slightly more miles on it after the auction is over than what it had when the eBay listing started. This will not be a drastic mileage increase (usually only a couple hundred miles at the most), but it does happen on occasion because of test drives and demonstrations during the auction. I want this transaction to be as smooth and pleasant as possible. A happy buyer is a well educated buyer, so if you are in doubt about anything, please ask.
