Vehicle Detail
1952 Dodge M-37 Military vehicle. It RUNS & DRIVES. If you are not familiar with these vehicles, let me share a few things:They were made to be multifunctional including many access panels for:Arctic heaterSnorkel (this is so it can pass through deep water, I'm guessing about 4 or 5 feet)WinchesGas can mounts that have also been used to mount rifles or a spare tiresHard top is removableThe front windows openThe entire windshield can be folded downRear end has heavy duty (overload) springsRear had to carry a pump and a large water tank (it looks like it was set up as a fire truck)Bed had mounting holes which also lead us to believe this was the case- fire truck. The holes are mounting holes not rust holes. The truck is in its 90% original form. Here is what we have found while working on the truck:The frame has been cut and re-welded. Not sure why, but it was done really well. The frame was braced very well using metal as think as the frame. It is braced on the inside with a "C" style brace and on the outside (see photo). Two crossmembers have a mild bend, but do not affect the drivetrain. The interior is original except for the seats; however, we found an extra original seat that we will include with the purchase. It has the Dodge D42 flathead inline 6 cylinder motor with a block heater. It has been converted from 24 volt to 12 volt.Almost everything works.Working: choke, lights, high beams, blinkers, brake lights, oil pressure gauge, amp. gauge, temp. gauge, 4wd, hazards. It has the original tags on the glove box and the two lever transfer case. Not working: Speedometer, gas guage (not connected) and emergency brake. We are still working on these. We have purchased the conecting rod for the emergency brake (goes from e-brake handle in cab to the brake drum)The worst rust is in the removable top and the access panel for jump starting. The body is in fair condition. Parts are not hard to find and I have two manuals in pdf format that will go with the truck. I also have a clean Title "Only". This simply means the truck was not driven on city streets so it only has a title. Registration is not required. The link below is from the DMV and explains it further.https://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/reg_hdbk/ch11/ch11_7.htmAccording to the link there will be no back fees, you just have to have a DMV vehicle verification done. I have a person that does this so you do not have to physically take the truck to the DMV. If you will be registering in CA I will INCLUDE this in the sale. No charge to you.We just got a new gas filter for the truck and did touch up paint on the running board, the front bumper, and all the wheels (one picture shows the touch up paint). We also installed a new rear seal for the transfer case to rear driveshaft. It is the most unique vehicle we have owned so we can't stop tinkering with it. We unfortunately need to say goodbye to our Dodge and bless someone else that is hungry to start a new project for themselves. This truck is also listed locally so auction can end at anytime. Should you have a zero feedback, please contact us prior to bidding. We thank you for your interest. Joe and Patty
