Vehicle Detail
This is a very original 1975 Carrera coupe selling at NO RESERVE. A total of only a couple hundred made. This one is #126. I bought the car from the second owner who owned it since 1979. I even have the bill of sale when he bought the car used in 1979 for $21,000. The car is numbers matching as confirmed by Porsche. The car has electric windows which are rather slow but still work. Factory A/C as well, but non-functional at the moment. The interior is very original and looks stunning with the original red interior. The upholstery is in good shape, headliner is very nice. The body is very nice overall. No structural rust. Little bubbling under window and under right headlight. The paint is very presentable, but far from perfect. Little chips can be found throughout. Car has never been in any accidents. Mechanically, its runs and drives great with a few exceptions that need attention. The cold start doesn’t work so it needs several cranks or little starter fluid to get it fired up. I hear this is common on MFI cars. Otherwise once warm it runs great. There’s a little hesitation from the MFI at 3-4k RPM but then runs smooth after that RPM range. It pulls very strong and will scream to high rpm without a problem, but again it does hesitate at the mentioned rpm range. Idles perfect, doesn’t smoke out of the tailpipe, doesn’t leak oil, strong oil pressure. It shifts great, clutch pedal is a little stiff and must be depressed deep, perhaps just a cable adjustment. Brakes are ok, but may recommend a new master brake cylinder for the future. I have lots of paperwork included with the car. Included are also the original owners manual and dealer service stamps. I have a free and clear title. Feel free to ask any questions. Overall this is a very original driver car that represents some of the finest cars that came out of Stuttgart. These Carreras are extraordinarily rare so bid to win because it WILL SELL to the highest bidder at NO reserve, good luck! On Feb-01-13 at 08:40:00 PST, seller added the following information: the engine number is 6451316, original per COA. The desirable Bosch MFI was added to the engine in place of the less desirable CIS many years ago.
