Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! You are bidding on a fantastic numbers matching 1969 Camaro RS SS 396 convertible that I have owned for 23 years. This is a high option car that has the following - power steering, power disc brakes, tilt wheel, deluxe interior including black/white houndstooth cloth seats, deluxe padded doorpanels, woodgrain interior trims, aux interior lighting, fold down rear seat, console with gauges, rear bumper guards, front and rear spoilers, power convertible top, AM-FM radio (not currently working), endura front bumper, exterior trim mouldings, cowl induction hood and functional air cleaner assembly, R59 battery, Muncie 4 spd transmission, 12 bolt 3.73 positraction rear axle, 396-350 hp engine, HD radiator, HD 5 leaf rear springs. The car also has 14 x 7 Rally wheels with Polyglas F70-14 tires. The AM FM radio is the only part of this Camaro that is not operational. The cowl induction hood, wipers and washers, back up lights, reverse lockout, choke, transmission and all other mechanics are in excellent working condition. The car starts right up even when cold and is a joy to drive. Keep in mind the Polyglas tires are known for having a mind of their own and are basically on the car as showpieces. For cruising I switch to a set of radial TAs but the car is being sold with the wheels/tires shown only. Exterior finish is PPG base/clear in the original Olympic Gold color with correct black Super Sport hockey stripe. As with all big blocks the tail panel is a satin blackout. Most all parts on this car are the original GM pieces and the car is not filled with cheap repop parts. Even the original big block HD cooling radiator is still there and in excellent condition. The original code JF 396-350 hp engine is all matching numbers and the serial number stamped down by the oil filter matches the VIN. The car sits on 14 x 7 Rally wheels but 2 are not original to the car. All the glass is in great shape and I believe the convertible top to be the original. The entire exhaust system is new and is an accurate copy of the original with aluminized pipe and transverse muffler. All the suspension has been rebuilt as well as the engine of course. The 396 was bored .030" over and reassembled with forged pistons, stainless valves, blueprint original cam, and high quality parts throughout. Rotating assembly is balanced to a tenth of a gram. Runs like a dream and pulls 22" vacuum at idle. This is a great show car that can be driven anywhere. I hate to let it go but I need some shop room for my next project. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I will not answer questions after the auction closes. If you need additional pictures please ask. A $1000 deposit will be expected from the winning bidder within 24 hrs of auction end or their bid will be disqualified. Balance of payment is due via wire transfer minimum 1 week prior to shipping the car. If you choose to pay with bank check the car will be held until the funds are verified by my bank, no exceptions. Of course the car is for sale locally so I may end the auction at any time. Any pics you'd like to see please let me know and give me a day to post. Shipping is at the expense of the winning bidder. I will help and assist in every way but the transporter is to be chosen, arranged, and paid for by the Buyer. Sorry, but I am not interested in any trades. All interested bidders are encouraged and welcome to come inspect and test drive the car before bidding. A third party inspection is welcome as well but only prior to bidding, not after. The assembly date on this car is 06A which is 1st week of June 1969. Block is 3955272 casting and has T0515JF on the front pad and has 19N6615xx down by the oil filter. The 3931063 heads (both) are dated April 11, 1969. The 3931067 intake is dated April 14 1969, the carb is (70)29215 and is dated 1019 which is April 11th 1969. Rear axle is code BU and dated May 9th, 1969. The HD fan is 3947772 and dated D69. RH manifold id 3916178 LH is hard to read looks like 39xx87x and both are drilled for AIR smog pump. These are really hard to get good pictures of so I used chaulk and pencil lead to help the numbers show up.
