Vehicle Detail

For sale my very original Honda XR200R 1985 from my vintage collection. I do not want to sell but I have another project that takes priority so this one has to go. This is one of the bikes Honda made during its technology leap past the other manufactures in the early 1980s. This was the bike to have when I was riding bikes as a kid. I got this one from a guy’s basement where it had been in storage for many years. It was my second basement find after my XR350 1983 that I sold late last year. I don't think it was ridden too much. Look at the right side of the frame above the foot peg - the paint is not even worn at all. Overall I like the condition and patina of the bike. The bike starts right up from cold with a bit of choke and the idles perfectly. The engine does nto smoke and runs well. As you can see in the pictures the orange red plastic is in fair condition.  The tank stickers have cracking if you look close but I like it for a 28 year old bike. The front number plate sticker is a bit worn and the plastic has some dark spots on it see picture. The left side number plate has crack repair on it.  I left it as I liked the “vintage”repair showing the bike had seen some use. I do have a unbroken left number plate that goes with the bike. The lights work front and rear.  I do not have the original handle bar pad but it has a Renthal one on it that works fine. The shocks work and are not leaking. The front brakes work. I put a new clutch cable on the bike when I got it using a Honda OEM part not an aftermarket. I wanted to keep the bike as stock as possible.  The speedometer / odometer looks like new and works well. Both the front and back wheel rims look fine. The spokes are clean. I can not believe that the gold color of the nipples is still there and they are in great condition – no one has been wrenching on them. I used the Honda four stroke oil recommended by the dealer. The seat looks good. The blue tool bag works great. Zipper ok. An original manual is inside as are all the factor tools and tool bag in a plastic bag see picture. The rear brakes work. The chain and sprockets are not showing much wear. I brush on some oil to keep the chain protected when in my dry indoor storage.  The grips and levers look great – grips have little signs of wear. As you can see in the pictures I have the original hand guards – very hard to find with this bike. I did not ride with them for fear of breaking them. Please ask any questions before bidding.   I do not have the title for the bike. I am selling this bike AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied. The buyer is responsible for picking up or shipping the vehicle. Please note that I require a deposit of $500 by Paypal within 2 days (48 hours) of the auction ending. The remainder must be paid in cash, Paypal, or via bank transfer within 7 days of the auction ending.   On Jan-25-13 at 23:39:06 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to add that I am selling locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
