Vehicle Detail
This truck is located in Minden, Nevada 89423 and is soldAS IS where is. It has a clear Nevada Title in my name andthus can be exported to Canada and other countries. Please check your shipping costs first and make sureits OK with your wife before bidding. Shipping, fees, import requirements, are all the responsibilityof the buyer. NO RESERVE This is an original 78 1/2 ton shortbed 2wd. D150 .It has it's original Core support data tag showing a solid formal blackexterior. It also shows 115 inch wheelbase and the the VIN with theall important 5th character as a "D" designating a 440 4 bbl engine. The vin is matched on the door tag and and on the frame. Thisis an original factory black 440 shorty! The #s gurus suggest that only (74) 1/2 ton 2wd trucks got 440motors. They do not break it down for long or short bed. As a shortbed this has to be about as rare as you can get. 1978 was the final year for the 440. It spent most of it's life in Central California, and the frameand underbody confirm this as a super dry climate West Coast truck. It has been painted all or partially more than once. This truck has bucket seats, add on air and a pair of rare ramcharger15/8inch wheels in the rear and 7 inch police SHD up front. The tires are old. It is hard to read the motor pad, but it appears to say 440 Eor possibly T440 E. The damper is cast crank style. It mayor may not be the original block. The carb and other enginecomponents are or may also be incorrect. The previousowner added the hood emblems. The rear end is a 9.25. The truck runs and drives, but should be trailered home forinspection and whatever repairs are required for safety or reliability. That said, It really needs and deserves a complete restorationof all components, so please assume this is a project. It is not a driver.Total miles are unknown. Several panels look to have been replaced including the front fendersthe roof and possibly the bed, as I don't think it should havethe rear filler hole. The tailgate latches are not working. The driver's door should be adjusted to fit properly, and thereare areas on the roof pillars that need work, The roof skin and drip rail look very good. And the bed floor is better that most, other than theadditional holes for the tool box and fuel cell. The under hood bracing has been cut in a couple of spots. The floors look very solid with only a few 1/4 inch holesin the pass side pan.The original gas tank was removed and it runs off of the fuel cellmounted in the bed. The rear bumper is also incorrect. The body also shows signs of cracked bondo, most notablyabove the rear wheels, and lot of scratches and general wearon the paint with some rattle can touch up. It also has it'sshare of parking lot dings etc. My goal is to sell the truck and have the buyer feelit is actually better than described, If you have questions please ask.It is a rare truck and will be amazing when restored to the level deserved. If you want more pictures of a particular area, please contact me.Please ask questions before bidding. NO RESERVE Buy it now requires an immediate 500$ non refundable paypal deposit. Winning bidder must pay in full within 72 hours of auction end and pick up in Minden Nevada 89423 within 30 days.
