Awesome 1966 Corvette Convertible with 327/300HP and Factory 4 Speed Transmission Two of my friends own this incredible car and they have asked me to sell it for him. I have been fortunate in my life to own and drive corvettes since my first convertible in 1972. I currently have three vintage C1 and C2 Corvettes that are either restored or being restored. I fully understand every aspect of a vintage Corvette and I can tell you that this car is sweet and correct in all the right ways. I have this car in my shop and have driven the car many times and without a doubt it is one of the finest drivers and high quality C2 Corvettes I have seen. The car has been completely restored and needs nothing other than a new owner and driving. This cool 1966 Corvette was built at the St Louis GM factory in June of 1966. It was originally shipped with Black (STD) interior and an exterior color of Silver Green (982). It came with a 327 cu in engine with 300 HP and a 4 speed transmission. The car has been completely restored and the exterior color was changed to its current beautiful Marina Blue color with a White convertible top. The entire interior is new and flawless, it is a high quality original style that is black and the same as what was available in 1966. It has beautiful 80/20 loop pile carpet on the floors and the entire rear storage area. There are two sets of floor mats, one clear that covers all the carpet to avoid getting dirt on the carpets and the others are a very expensive 80/20 loop pile embroider Corvette mats. The motor block in the car is not the original motor, it is however a 1966 vintage 327/300 hp block with the cars original 461 fuel (double hump) heads. It has an upgraded Elderbrock polished Aluminum intake and an updated Elderbrock 650 CFM carburetor, the ignition has been upgraded to a MSD electronic distributor and matching wires. The M21 Muncie 4 Speed transmission is original to the car; it shifts and runs smooth with no noise of any kind. The shifter is the original Muncie lock out shifter and is so smooth it’s hard to believe it is 46 years old. The car is equipped with the original exhaust manifolds and side pipes that sound so cool when you rumble down the streets. This car runs very strong but drives and handles great, the cooling system keeps the car at the correct temperature and the oil pressure is great. This car has been totally restored from ground up with just about everything on the car new or refurbished. The car is sitting on a perfect set of 15” Kelsey Hays Aluminum wheels with real knock offs (the brass hammer is included with the car). The tires are new Kumho narrow white side walls 15” X 205/75. The Paint on the car is very good and is a base coat / clear coat system, there are a couple slight imperfections, other than that the paint is perfect. The body is laser straight and all body lines align very well. There is new glass all the way around and all new weather stripping everywhere. According to the owners the car has never been in an accident and all body parts are original. There is no rust on the frame or the frame components and everything about the car is solid. The car has the original console and all the gauges, lights, wipers, heater, radio and clock works flawlessly. The speedometer is dead on and at 50 MPH the car turns about 2100 RPM. (I checked it three times on a radar gun). There is a retro looking updated radio with a USB port and MP3 player hookups. Finally I have a load of documentation for the car; it includes all of the restoration receipts, previous owners and service records. You normally find two kinds of vintage Corvettes, one that has been treated rough and has had substandard care and repairs. Then there are the ones that have been taken care of and received TLC their entire life. I am offering a Baby here that has been taken very good care of all of its life and has been spoiled rotten.
