Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 944 base which I purchased one year ago for my son on EBay for $5400. When it arrived I was blessed to find the car had a lot of items that needed addressed before we would let him drive it. The cars runs extremely strong with a lot of torque so it may have had some work done in the past. The timing belt was replaced last year as a condition when I bought it. The car is in good respectable condition and listed below is everything I have done to the car since I purchased it. The odometer did not work so I had it rebuilt and set to zero that's the reason for the low mileage, I have no clue what the original mileage would be. The tires, wheels and exhaust are all in good shape. The stereo system was just installed with high quality components, all of the speakers (7) are new including the Kenwood head unit and amp, READ CAREFULLY BELOW. I did not find any rust on the car or signs of body work, and nothing shows up on the auto check. The interior is in decent shape except the dash has the normal cracks and age, seats have no tears and carpet is above average. The car was repainted ten years ago but has faded. I require a $500 non refundable deposit at the end of the auction. I have described the car honestly and will be happy to answer any questions, just ask. I see no sense in setting a blind reserve just too make people bid up to see it, mine is the starting price so you can see I'm most likely taking a big loss but that's life with used cars. Here is a chance for someone to get a great historic sports car at a great price. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost. Title is free and clear and will be sent when the payment clears. Repairs I have made. Replaced both sun roof seals $237 Replaced hood and deck lid shocks $128 Replaced all key locks including the ignition $250 Replaced the interior light fixtures $60 Rebuilt the odometer cluster $200 Replaced the power seat switch $192 Replaced the deck lid switch $27 Replaced the sun roof gears and pockets $90 Replaced the missing head liner trim $55 Replaced broken mirror $30 Replaced the wiper motor and complete assembly $125 Replaced wiper squirters $28 Replaced battery $120 Replaced throttle body boot $60 Replaced oil filter housing seals $90 Replaced A/C & alternator belt $30 The stereo system was over $800 and will NOT be included if the car sells for less than $4,000 but will include original equipment that came with car when I purchased it. The last thing I needed to repair was the A/C but have not gotten around to it and will not, I believe the switch control assembly is bad because the compressor works when hot wired. My wife decided it was too powerful for our young son car and bought him a new one so I'm cutting my loses and letting it go. I do have the car advertised for sale locally and reserve the right to cancel this ad if sold. I have made this into a good looking and respectable daily driver for someone who wants a 944's without paying the crazy prices some people are asking. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.
