Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on an exceptional 1972 Chevrolet Nova TRUE SS. This car will bring a tear to my eye when it goes I searched over 5 years for the correct Nova SS for my personal collection and purchased this one over 2 years ago from the original owner. Unfortunately I have 14 cars and am redoing a 1963 corvette 340 Horse car so I am selling this one to make room for the Corvette. The original owner purchased this car back in 1972 from Crumback-Symons Chevrolet in New Haven, Indiana. It was factory optioned with Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Floor Mats Front and Rear, Body Side Molding, Rear Window Defroster, 4-Season Air Conditioning, Sport Suspension, Positraction Axle, 4- Speed Transmission, Power Steering, E70 x 14 Belted White Let Tires, Electric Clock, AM/FM Push Button Radio, Rear Seat Speaker, Custom Interior, Auxiliary Lighting, Nova SS Equipment, Black Vinyl Interior, and Code 68-68 Midnight Bronze. All the Options brought the car up to 3991.55 Sticker Price. I received all the paperwork that the original owner had kept throughout the years including the original bill of sale, all the maintenance records and upkeep records as shown. In 1993 the original engine was replaced with a 325 Horse ZZ3 Crate Engine from Summit Racing due to the original owner wanting more power and the air conditioning compressor and condenser were removed and stored. In 2002 he and the Nova moved to Florida and in 2008 the ZZ3 was removed and completely overhauled and rebuilt to ZZ4 355 Horse Specs with a larger camshaft and all new machine work at this time the original owner also rebuilt the entire transmission. The current rebuilt ZZ4 and rebuilt Transmission have only 2000 miles on them. The Transmission/Rear End and engine compartment parts such as pulleys, manifolds, and so on are matching numbers but the engine itself as stated before was replaced. The original engine and A/C Compressor and Condenser were lost in the move to Florida by the original owner in 2002 and I am still trying to locate it but no luck so far. I can tell the proud new owner more about the history of this Nova upon purchase but lets get to the details. I bought the Nova back in late 2010 and took it straight to my Body Man who does all my show cars and had him redo the entire body and paint. All the panels were removed and the only rust found in and on the car was inside the inner fenders. I had both inner fenders replaced NOT patched. At one time the previous owner installed new eyebrows on the rear quarters but all other panels were in excellent original shape and all appeared to be original to the car. I made sure extra special care was taken with this car to keep it as original as possible it took almost a year to have the bodywork and paint completed. Each original sticker was carefully taped as not to remove them, all original trim was removed and restored and the interior and underneath were all taped off. The car was taken apart piece by piece and painted with 4 coats PPG Tuxedo Black followed by 4 coats of PPG Clear Coat then buffed and wet sanded to what you see a mirror finish. The paint and bodywork look amazing it is as straight as an arrow with no bondo, no waves, no rust, or fiberglass. The pictures on the lift show even the underneath is immaculate with no rust in the floor pans or trunk as it was always stored inside and out of the weather by the original owner and myself. Throughout the years the original owner replaced parts as needed and all are documented with the paperwork but some of the more recent parts replaced within the last 3 years include New Bumpers Front and Rear, New Gas Tank, New Sending Unit, New Gas Tank Straps, New Bolts and Seals, New Hotchkis Front and Rear Performance Sway Bars with New Bushings, New Clutch Linkage and Bearings and a New Clutch. Since purchasing the car I have bought and installed New NOS B Pillars which are extremely hard to find, New COPO Stainless Steel Chambered Exhaust System over 1800.00 alone, New Paint as stated before, New Weatherstripping Doors and Trunk, New Cluster Lens, New Plugs, New Wires, New Rotor, New Cap, New Coil, New High Flow Water Pump, New Fuel Pump, All New Fuel Lines and Clamps, New Belts, New Lower Grille Molding Plastic Trim, New 750 Holley Mechanical Secondary Carburetor, Tons More but I tried very hard to purchase only NOS parts as to keep the car as original as possible. The interior is original to the car and does show very minor wear remember it is 40 years old the carpet is worn on the drivers side as shown in picture not horrible and is covered by the floor mat, the dash bezel has a crack also shown and the wiper switch was replaced by the original owner and is not the right one so he mounted it underneath the dash. Everything else is in exceptional shape including door panels, dash, headliner, seats, trim and so on. All the side and rear glass is original and like new the front windshield was replaced by original owner and is also like new. Wheels and tires are American Racing Chrome Rallys with 100 Miles on the Tires. Trunk is in excellent shape with original spare, jack stand, and jack assembly. The car runs and drives amazing it stops on a dime with the power front disc brakes and steers with your pinky thanks to the power steering. The transmission shifts like butter thanks to the new clutch and really makes this Nova SS a pleasure to drive. I have owned many Novas but I can tell you this one drives the best out of all of them the car is very tight down the road no noises or funny sounds, and with the hotchkins sway bars it corners and handles like a dream. The COPO exhaust gives it a very distinctive muscle car sound and gets attention wherever you go. I have tried my best to describe this car as accurately as possible but I not only welcome local inspections but also encourage them I have nothing to hide and the new owner will not be disappointed with this gorgeous Nova SS. Remember these cars are only original once and besides the engine most of this car is still completely original and with the factory paperwork to prove what is stated it will only increase in value every year. Included with the sale is many of the original parts including the original Quadrajet Carburetor, The Hood to Core Support Seal, The Radiator Core Support Plate, the Original Clutch plate, the Original Clutch linkage and Other Clutch related parts Most all the original air parts are still within the car such as the box, wiring, and evaporator but car will need compressor and condenser for it to be functioning. If you have any questions you can call Frank at 863-381-3499 and I will be more than happy to answer them and tell you more about the car. As always car is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied and buyer is responsible for all shipping costs have clear Florida title in my name.
