Vehicle Detail

I am relisting this jeep due to a discrepancy in the title. The vin number on the title is 53UL112800, and the number on the vin plate is 453-GB1 12800, It is titled as a 1955, but it is actually a 1953 model. After doing some research, I found this website that describes how they did titles back then. Here is the link: www.vintagejeepparts.com/WOProdFig.pdf. Hopefully it expains it. I do know that my grandfather bought the Jeep in the early 1960's at a car lot and that is the title they gave him with it. I guess all of these years nobody checked it against the vin plate. I think the title is definitely original, but there are discrepancies. The title is clear, and ready to be signed over, but I don't know what would need to be done to correct it. Thanks to a couple of other ebayers for pointing this out. OK, here it is again: Here is a 1953 Willys Jeep. The Jeep has been in my family for the last 60 or so years, and has been parked in our barn for probably the last 40. I had the Jeep running about 16 years ago and was able to drive it around. I kept it running for about a year, then lost interest in it and parked it back in the barn. When I did have it running, it ran pretty well and did not smoke. All of the gears worked as they should and the 4 wheel drive worked amazing. I never did get the brakes working. Unfortunately now the motor is locked up. I did try to free the motor up by pouring kerosine in the cylinders and trying to turn the motor over, but it did not work. When I got it running 16 years ago, the motor was locked up then and I had to take the head off and let it soak with oil. I cannot guarantee that it will work again, but that's how I got it free. It has some rust and the passenger floorboard will probably need replaced and a couple of holes below the doors, but most of the body is solid. The tires do hold air for at least a couple of weeks, but they all have very slow leaks and are dry rotted. Anyone is welcome to come and inspect the jeep before bidding. A deposit of $100 through Paypal is required after auction close, and the rest in cash on pick up. Pick up should be within 2 weeks of auction close. Message me if there is a need to hold it longer, and that won't be a problem. I can also deliver up to 100 miles at $3.00 per mile. Thanks, and good luck!
