Vehicle Detail

My apologies to all prior ebay bidders and watchers of this corvette. We had received a few emails regarding concerns over the vehicle’s engine and electrical status from 6 years of sitting indoors during the initial listing. We decided it was best to have a mechanic come to our facility to give the car a once over prior to a finalized sale. The results are outlined in the information below. Again sincerest apologies and this listing will go to completion. *****Up for sale again is this very clean 68 Chevy Vette. This car was used as a fun weekend driver but has been sitting in an indoor garage since 2006. This car is NOT DRIVING and being sold as a PROJECT in AS-IS condition with a clean signed notarized AZ title. There are NO warranties - I will do my best to describe what I see. Since the initial listing we did have a mechanic review the systems of the car and the car was started. He first removed the interior center console to inspect the wiring for damage and dryness. It all looked in great condition and intact without any damage. He then inspected the engine compartment wiring and hoses and again no damage was found. He then removed the old dead battery and cleaned the terminals. Using a battery he had and some starter fluid, the car then started right up for a brief period of time. The engine sounded tight and solid without knocking etc. The interior and exterior lights worked fine as did the dash lights, turn signals and high beams (2 side marker light bulbs are out). He then put some gas in the tank and it was dripping out around the sending unit. He drained the gas and removed the old sending unit, ordered a new one (which will be included with the sale of the car) but it has not been installed. The car will be sold in this condition. It has brand new tires and was washed off/vacuumed only. It seems so close to completion but our space is not sufficient to see this car back on the road. PLEASE read the entire description. Here is what I can see about the car. ***EXTERIOR: the outside of the car looks great and I would say it’s a very nice condition driver quality paint job. It does not have any oxidation in the paint since it was stored inside. There is a chip on the hood you can see in the pictures and a superficial crack in the paint on the hood. If you decided just to repaint the hood and buffed it out the car it would look extremely clean. No fiberglass damage noted. Couple little bubbles in the paint here/there but minimal. Chrome is in good condition. Wheels are chrome and perfect without flaws with original hubcaps. Front bumper chrome is very nice…rear bumpers have some superficial scratches throughout. All lenses and emblems are intact. ***INTERIOR: The interior is in very nice condition with blue leather seats that are soft without tearing or cracks. The carpet is in good condition without tearing or wear and would probably respond very well to a shampoo. The door panels and dash are in good condition as well. Glass is in good condition with both side windows being original ‘ASTRO’ glass. The windshield has one small chip, no cracks but some light grooves from the wipers. Door mechanisms / windows work fine. Both T-tops works fine and the rear window pops out. The car shifts through reverse and all 4 gears as it should. ***DRIVETRAIN: Again this car is NOT DRIVING!!! Appears mostly original with a V8 engine which I think is a 327 and a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine appears complete with Edelbrock valve covers and carburetor. The engine was started briefly on starter fluid and sounds tight without knocking etc…oils reads full on the dipstick. Antifreeze is up in the radiator. There are no leaks under the engine or radiator. The clutch pedal feels good but the brake pedal goes to the floor. This car will need brake work – 4 wheel discs. Emergency brake does not work really well. I checked briefly on ebay and complete brake bolt on kits are available in the $450 range. As stated above the tires are new with 0 miles on them. The car is complete underneath and fairly clean but is missing the exhaust tips and has a leak under the rear end. Wiring in the engine compartment looks complete. The gas tank is empty and the sending unit has been removed (new one will be included). There is NO sign of rust that I can see underneath the car on the frame. Please contact me with any questions 714-475-8568. I do work with vehicles but mostly new motorcycles/cars. My area is not set up for projects like this. The car is being sold AS-IS with keys and a clear Arizona signed/notarized title. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or less than 90% feedback please contact me before bidding. This car will sell with a very reasonable reserve. The value of this car fixed up will be considerable. I can help set up shipping options including international shipping but all costs are buyers responsibility!! Thanks!
