Vehicle Detail
You are bidding a 1986 Chevy El camino but don't let that discription fool you. This car has been gone thru and totally customized into an awesome ride. I have over $ 23,000 invested (not including labor) in this vehicle. The paint is original chevy maroon over silver with ghost flames and custom pinstriping and airbrushed shadowing. There is also a custom tanau cover and Linex Spray in bed liner. Also included is a custom black diamond plate tool box w/ gold chevy emblem, and very handy powder coated adjustable cargo rack. The rack allows for lumber and such to be loaded without touching the tail gait as well as keeping cargo from shifting. The wheels are period appropriate Keystone Classics with custom chevy emblem hubs. The motor is a gen 3, feul injected tuned port injection motor with aluminium heads, flat top pistons, and chrome plenum. Puts out about 360 hp and is fuel injected (no carbs to mess with). 10 to 1 compression. This motor is the one that was put in Corvettes in the early nineties. All this and it still passes Colorado emissions. The trans is a 200r overdrive with cooler. The drivetrain has been upgraded to a 373 posi (original was a 307 non posi) and it will leave rubber if ya like buying tires. Also all the brakes and suspention has been rebuilt with new upper and lower control arm bearings and all steering parts. The rear end has been upgraded with heavy duty springs, 1100 lbs spring bags and air shocks with on board adjustable compressor and gauges. Front to back, this El Camino has been worked. Inside, the seat is a three person bench (with three seatbelts) and a drop down armrest for two person driving. It is done in two tone gray with matching upper door panel covers. The dash is perfect and is protected by an Eclipse custom sun curtain. The gauges are factory but there are several after market options (if you want to make it "badasser"). I've removed the behind passenger spare (relocated to under the gas tank on custom bracket) and add a 600 watt power amp and subwoofer to compliment the double din touch screen kenwood stereo/video player with remote control. I've also installed a Temp/compass/lighted/homelink mirror because it's pretty freakin cool to have one that does four functions. Also it has a class C towing hitch with both 1.5 and 2 inch modular hitch sockets, and an electronic brake control. It has a remote keyless entry with an alarm system. If you have any questions just email me as I love to talk about this car and I can provide phone contact info. This is a colorado car so that means NO RUST. There are less the 10,000 miles on the new motor. There are a only a few things left that I would do to. For what it's worth I would put in digital gauges, and front end the motor with a full chrome serpentine belt system from March auto. In short this car is everything Chevy should of done but in the 80's the government decided to tell companies how to build cars. Back then, 55 was the speed limit and, smal under powered, gas stingy, emission restricted, engines were mandated. This is the car that Chevy wanted/should of built. I garauntee you that this car will get you thumbs up's and knowing nods on the road. I'm selling this car because I would like to get a one ton diesel pick-up and fith wheel toy hauler and would consider a trade +/- $$$$ for either or both. I will be trying to sell this car through other means so I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. Thanks for the look and happy bidding!
